If you delete this rugby thread delete every post that isn't football related. You'll have a very quiet message board.

Frankly, anyone else who fancies beating either of these two (especially NZ) can only depend on “one of those days” or a sending off or two.
Seeing as NZ only gave away two penalties in such a keenly contested game the sending off option looks remote, as it stands.

Ireland v Scotland should be a good game (starting at 8:45) then you have Tonga v Tongan nationals which should be an easy victory for England.

watching the latter games yesterday and it seems not only do they accept feeding in the scrum...they also don't mind a not straight lineout..these days

They were so, so bad today. Finn Russell is an undoubted talent but when the open game is stifled, he’s offers next to no direction to this team.
Japan will fancy their chances against them in the last pool game

Looking forward to Tonga turning England over shortly :hide:

Bit of a pointless thing to pick at England for really considering who’s played for wales over the years.
Hadley Parkes sounds welsh as ****.

Yeah because New Zealand losing out on talent has held them back so much. The point isn't restricted to England though, it's almost all tier one nations who have picked from the Pacific Islanders without giving too much back. Although England are the rugby nation with the most resources before going down this route if that matters at all.

FT:
England 35 - 3 Tonga
I guess they think it's coming home already.
Wales play tomorrow morning 11:15 v Georgia

Of course you have a point, but I didn’t think that was the nature of the post I was replying to.
We can’t sit here and knock England for what we do, almost as stupid as the anti England songs we sing at the city with how many English players and staff?
Anyway, I agree it’s not right. They are basically taking them from a school age now and you’d bet given the choice they’d rather play for their own nation but they get a better upbringing in NZ with school and work for their family..

Wales win Countryfile One man and his dog competition. Is this an omen? No Kiwis in it though.

Did you think that they should replace the sheep or the sheepdogs?

Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s game and hopefully a chance to concentrate on the rugby rather than Rob Howley.
Will be interesting to see how Wales play, as they got dragged into Georgia’s type of game a few years ago, admittedly with a changed team and were lucky to win. The conditions are not supposed to be great tomorrow but Wales will need to play in wider channels rather than in tight.

Scotland have no power in terms of world class ball carriers.
Their game v Japan will be like the Harlem Globetrotters v the Washington Generals. Full of skills but no grunt.
Fiji have been talked up but their scrum is porridge and Wales will bore them out of the game. I'll be amazed if we got sucked into playing their game. It'll be like a Jose Chelsea v an Ossie Spurs.

Neither really. They'd be difficult to spot and can't bark.🥝🥝

Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Brilliant start, cutting Georgia to shreds off 1st phase ball.

Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Bonus point secured at half time. Could do with giving some of the bench a bit of a run out early ahead of the Aussies game now, and wrap AWJ, Biggar etc in cotton wool.

Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Try Georgia.
Someone mentioned the lapse in officiating these days with feeding in scrums and lineouts not straight.
From the overhead camera that lineout that led to the try was definitely not straight.
