Am I right in thinking that the goalscorer cupped her hands together a la Gareth Bale but in the shape of a Jägerschnitzel?

Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
Extra time.
The German side look fitter to me although England finished the game better.
Gotta be pelanties, the eventual winner taking it 24-23.
-
Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
Extra time’s not really fair on the players partners. They’re gonna have to wait even longer now for their tea.
-
Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
It's good to hear the female commentators don't know the laws as much as the men. It's called careless, reckless and excessive equality.

Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
F*ck me the football cliches are flying like one of Lucy Bronze's tackles.
-
Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
Fair play, I’ve watched nearly all of the game and I’ve not heard a single 1966 reference - it must be a man thing.

Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
Can't wait for this to finish so I can get out of these lederhosen.
-
Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
The commentator here, Ian Darke, keeps referring to England/Germany stats including the men's team. Weird as ****. Do they do that in any other sport? A league 2 team would crush either of these teams. Can't we just call a spade a spade?

2-1 England!!
Shirt off too. Reminded me of the Smith and Jones sketch (was it?).
Looks like they're gonna nick it.

Put it to penalties regardless, just for a laugh.

The news progs on BBC and ITV have made up for that - every bulletin.

Well deserved, England (and my not having listened to the always-biased English commentary).

First thing on the tannoy... Lightening seeds "....it"s coming home, it's coming home...." :hehe:

Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
Now that they’ve finally won something, do you think the football authorities will stop allocating every major tournament final to Wembley?
Germany just ran out of steam at half time in extra time.

I am chuffed for those players but if it was the England mens team no way

Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
Glad that's over. The commentators were cringe-making. Well done England but I'm turning over to watch the swimming now.

Bloody glad their men lost to Italy last year.

Good to see Mrs Citizen with a spring in her step on her way back to the kitchen to do the washing up. Gives me a warm glow.

Cringe-making is putting it mildly. If you turned the sound off and watched it for pure footballing appreciation you wouldn't think these are the 2 best teams in Europe. Some good passing moments but it really looked like a Sunday morning at Pontcanna with 22 hangovers

One of my mates messaged me, “can’t believe it, it’s home, I get to see England win a major tournament” this **** hadn’t mentioned women’s football until a month ago. Ffs

Totally agree with you regarding the quality of football. I've been hearing so much about the high skill level in the women's game so against my better judgement I thought I'd have a shufti and see what all the fuss is about. Never again. Mostly it was absolute dross.

It was a ditty penned by a couple of comedians that caught the imagination of the public and even the German media today acknowledged its appeal. Be not so serious, old fruit x

Re: England v Germany Womens Euro Final
I honestly can't see why people are bothered . They were a good team and probably deserved to win . Its going to improve participation in football and possibly interest so that's got to be good news ?
If the England mens football team ever win anything then that will be the time to head for the trenches .
