Has the added complication that the p word is clearly meant to be offensive. "Does your boyfriend know your here" doesn't include any offensive words and therefore you have to look at it a little closer.

Ok so if the chant was "town full of Pakistani's" that's would be ok? No offensive words in there either
Come on fella. The gay chant is offensive to people. it really isn't that hard to grasp

I haven't said it's not offensive. I don't immediately see it as offensive though and may need a conversation with a gay person to understand better, but then sometimes people who are gay need to converse to understand better about other people covered by LGBTQ+ as (I believe I am right in saying) you can see when GLC were booked for pride. But there are things which are easier to see immediately as offensive such as songs about, well, you can imagine.

My understanding, though too vague, was that it helps expand on people who identify as queer but not necessarily as LGBT. Turns out it's for queer or questioning however more traditionally a plus symbol is used to help cover this (and other), whereas I merged two ideas.

So the term queer is acceptable again? I cant keep up.

Re: Homophobic chanting (HC) the new arrestable offence at football.
I can't say that I have ever felt the need to chant insults to anyone whatsoever at a sporting occasion.

It's reclaimed but one of these words that some people in the LGBT+ community don't necessarily like so it depends on person to person

Oh that is OK then. Uncomplicated as always. Do we need to enquire tentatively and gently on a person by person basis then?
Or , best not use it at all perhaps.

I thought I understood most of the acronyms and definitions around gender and identity, but I only found out what 'gay' means yesterday.
I always assumed it was just a word adopted and redefined by homosexuals and lesbians to mean positive, joyous and happy in their sexuality. I was told yesterday that the origin is an acronym for 'Good As You'. I never knew that!

Not complicated don't say anything racist or homophobic, quite easy actually. Don't discriminate against other human beings.

Indeed, not complicated.
Except for those who actually like to make things more complicated.

It's true of any sort of insult though it isn't insulting if it's said by the person, it isn't complicated in the slightest. I don't understand why people who aren't gay are so desperate to say it nor why they're so annoyed that gay people can.
It's a bizarre form of privileged that doesn't even offer any benefits.

The Q is for questioning.
Introduced by the leftie liberals to cover young pre school children that are questioning their sexuality. This is genuine. All dross if you ask me.
LBGTQ.
I am coming out and identifying as a Sikorsky Helicopter. So I want it to be referred to as
LBGTQSK.
You all okay with that?:hehe:

That gay fella 'H' out of the pop group Steps should get married to Mr C out of the Shamen, they would save £££s on personalised taps for their new home.

Re: Homophobic chanting (HC) the new arrestable offence at football.
Gareth Thomas's BBC documentary on homophobia in football https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RaBEdmU67Y convinced me that football is unique among major sports for its level of homophobia.
Also exposes the FA & other bodies as doing feck all to stamp it out.
Why are so many gay Championship players (statistically, there must be tons) living a lie by not coming out? Simple. Because they're scared of how we, the fans, would treat them. Football really needs a Gareth Thomas to come out & shame everyone involved in football into action.

Or maybe they just don't think it's anybody else's business?
Which it isn't.
I couldn't give a shit if a player is gay or straight and I don't really understand why anyone else feels the need to know the sexuality of a complete stranger.
