To be fair they don't know a motive yet, it isn't automatically a terrorist event just because a lot of people have been killed there needs to be a political motivation.
There are rumours this guy was a far left lunatic targeting a country music festival which has right leaning people attend which would mean it was a terrorist attack but it isn't cofirmed yet.

Apparently he had 10 rifles in his room and it was premeditated, she was just telling people at the concert they were going to die.

It's staggering just how many nutters there are that don't care what ruin they cause to other people's lives. Added to the lack of gun control in the US, maybe it's surprising that there are not more shootings like this.

Most states are Concealed Carry only, so you won't see someone walking down fifth avenue with a cowboy holster, in Vegas, that guy could've wandered down the street holding an AK47 in front of him and the police wouldn't have been able to do a thing until he pointed it at someone or pulled the trigger.
Thanks for the head's up mate. Its messed up. Really is. The Don has called for flag's to be flown at half mast, and put they're trust in the Lord. Maybe he should tackle the bullshit laws that you have described and they could then put a bit of trust in the folks that make them.

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
Shocking as this is I don't think it will worry the NRA or the rest of the idiots who
support " the right to bear arms ".
A seriously ferked up country.
I've been to the States 6 or 7 times and I always feel slightly uncomfortable there
because you never know which nutter will shoot you.
Once we stopped at a services in the middle of nowhere and there was a wonderful big truck.
I thought that would make a great picture of a great paint job in the great outdoors.
Got my camera out but before I took any pics two guys ran up to me pushed and shoved me
and threatened to " blow my ferking head off " if I took just one picture.
Have a nice day I thought as I got back on our bus.

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
I have still not seen one argument from an American that makes me think "the right to bear arms" is anything but ridiculous.
Their man argument is that it's in the constitution, which was written ages ago, what's wrong with updating laws?
-
Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
They love throwing people in prison, it's a big business. Just think how many more they can lock up for possession of a firearm if they banned guns. No brainier for me..

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
Stephen Paddock brought an arsenal of weapons into the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas before opening fire on a crowd at a country music festival Sunday night, police said.
“We are still going through the search warrant … but [he had] in excess of 10 rifles,” Joseph Lombardo, the sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, told reporters at a Monday morning press conference.
10 ****ing rifles in a hotel..

Somone needs to explain to them what the word “amendment “ means

Updating the laws and the constitution would be best. Second best would be to not update the arms. Let anyone buy and carry a flintlock musket or a sword. They can still kill and maim, but not on an industrial scale!

I think that's a capital idea. It would save thousand's of wild animals who are hunted for fun, I mean sport at the same time.

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
USA: a country with bizarre and odious values.
-
Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
The Republicans have also introduced a Bill to lift the ban on silencers!
idiots.
Surely as a starting point they should ban Semi and Fully Automatic guns, sniper rifles, large capacity Magazines and Flamethrowers (all legal in the USA) and only allow civilians small limited ammo hand guns. They'd still have their right to carry arms.

They often say it is to protect themselves against a future potential tyrannical government - one that has drones, robots, guns bigger than your house and can see and hear everything you do and say. They might as well have a potato gun.

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
The red necks and the gun lobby in the US continually pedal the ludicrous excuse that, if people carry guns they can protect themselves against attacks!!
The right to own a gun so important to them that they see incidences like these almost as collateral damage.

The thing about that is when was the last time a civilian with a gun stopped one of these lunatics? It's almost always the police.

And by the time they've been stopped the damage has already been done.
It was just stated on the BBC news that four times more people were killed by guns in the US last year (30,000) than the total number of coalition deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq over 16 years of war.

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
There was an Amy phoelr (parks and rec actress, however you spell it) speech to Harvard graduates in which she commented that they were the generation growing up after 9/11, that they had to get used to taking off their shoes at the airport....
There have been so many attacks over the past decade. We now have a fairly routine reaction in the media, online and in social/political scene and that's what a number of generations have had to grow up with. It's so sad.

Number of Americans killed on battlefields in every war in history - 1.3million
Number killed with guns on US soil since 1968 - 1.5million
Number killed by Islamic immigrants in the last 15 years - 20

Yeah on the same day that 58 people were gunned down I think that guns should be banned. What a monster I am!

For the uninitiated, what is shameful about that particular post?

Authorities have since dismissed ISIS’s claim. Like you say, looks like they’ll try to claim responsibility for everything now in an attempt to remain relevant.

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
One man shot about 600 people. And nothing will change, it's complete madness.

The shameful thing here is that more Americans are shot by other Americans than by any external threat.

Some pathetic articles coming out really.
If jihadists had the chance they'd be carrying out crucifixions on every street.

Where in the post did you say guns should be banned?
Nowhere.
You had to bring Islamic immigrants.
They had no relevance to this tragedy.
Show some respect.

You've completely misunderstood his post. He was illustrating the fact that more Americans are killed by other Americans, yet the likes of Trump and the right wing in the US would have you believe that Islamic extremism is the biggest problem facing their society.

Bullets should be taxed until they cost $5000 a shot

Agree. No more innocent By standers as the man says.

Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
Also worth remembering that when America's 2nd amendment was written 200 and something years ago, there's no way they could have imagined guns that could kill and injure hundreds of people from such a distance away.
-
Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
Share prices of gun manufacturers have gone up. Why? Because the market is betting on the fact that consumers will be rushing out to buy more guns ahead of potential legislation that might make buying a machine gun a little bit more difficult. You can buy a rifle in Walmart (think Asda's) with your weekly shop ffs.
The US gun manufacturing market is worth about $40bn.
I suspect the NRA is more concerned by $$ than the constitution.
-
Re: Latest gun massacre USA....
I see little desire to change it in America. What they do suggest about tougher background checks would't have prevented yesterdays disgrace. Confiscation is out of the question there as well I would think. They wouldn't have that.

Exactly, my point was there's muslim travel ban yet still no appetite for proper gun control.
