Also that there needs to be a way to stop banned people simply setting up another account and coming straight back on here.

Not sure that's possible really, you can hamper an individual from getting on the board but if they're determined enough they'll get back on one way or another.

If you ban IP addresses then people can just use a VPN

I remember when they kept banning Roathie on **** so he set up around 10 accounts one after the other saying something along the lines of

As someone who genuinely was in a serious situation one evening and reached out to this board and received unbelievable support, of which I will never forget, and thank all those involved for ever, I think the ban is the least that scum deserved. Feeling suicidal is something you must NEVER cry Wolf about.

Yes, gets to me though because I used to be one to keep my nose out of strangers business, but then I had my little episode so to speak a few years ago, after that I was always more willing to approach people if I thought they needed some sort of help...

Not been on here long, and been a flick through reader of random threads over some time but not regularly checked the board even on a weekly basis..so wasn't aware who this fella was or his previous for it.

As another posted eluded to, anyone getting enjoyment from making false statements about feeling suicidal has a very serious problem.
The laugh can't ever be on those who responded with offers of help.

You’re right, it did seem a little bit off which is why some people posted in the way they did.

However if there’s even a small chance that something like that was authentic then it explains why others posted offers of help and advice. The fact that it looks like it was bullshit has shown the best and worst of Internet forums. The op is obviously lacking in something.
