Why did the stop making Westerns?
They didn't, they just gave them wings and called them "Star wars"

The Dakotas
William Tell (effectively a western set in Switzerland)
Westerns became "politically incorrect" with the constant depiction of naughty 'injuns'.
So they replaced the Colt45s with blasters and phasers, and made the injuns into aliens.
the film Avatar perfectly matches the "exploit the natives' land without regard for their welfare" of the American West.

Four feather Falls
Another one no one else I speak to seems to remember. I think it was one of the first series done by Gerry Anderson. About a cowboy with a magic gun that he didn't need to aim (if my memory is right)
