His confidence was unsurprisingly shot.

1-7 on his debut at Plymouth😱

Winston Faerber was a touch of the exotic at the time.

Re: Obscure players that once played for us
Terry Harkin. 10 goals in 20 games in the 60s. Promised a lot but failed to maintain his form.

He scored two late goals to get us a replay and he then scored the only goal in a 1-0 win. He was hardly seen again.

Re: Obscure players that once played for us
Who was that Irish fella who scored the winner at Wolves, the season we were banned ????
-
Re: Obscure players that once played for us
Dave Greene, Andy Thompson, Seamus Kelly, Leigh Vick, John Cross.
There was a time when most who played for us were obscure, to be fair.

Athur Granville. Was playing for City when war broke out. Conscripted into the air force from CCFC and after basic training was posted to - - - Cardiff City Football club!!!
Apparently it was to encourage fitness amongst youth players and spread the word on how good the RAF was.
So basically he did sweet FA all
through the war :shrug::hehe:

Yep played against Coventry on Boxing Day, came off after about 60 mins, didn’t play in a heavy defeat at Watford, then got injured early at Bristol City never to be seen again.
Cruel for him and eally disappointing as he played well on his debut and had undoubted talent.

Re: Obscure players that once played for us
Nick McKoy is my go to answer in these sorts of threads - one appearance in the league cup, according to wiki. Probably more famous in Australian football than anywhere else if the last note on Wiki is true: "McKoy was arrested on 15 September 2013 on suspicion of match fixing while playing with the Southern Stars in the Victorian Premier League in Australia...McKoy was later banned from the sport for life by FIFA."
He came at the same time as Malvin Kamara, who I wouldn't suggest because my memory of him was under DJ and in one of the September to October periods where we were really quite good before then falling away in November and never really recovering.

Didn't say he was, just giving info on the game where Ferretti was booked!
