I would like to join the Zohore group (not totally confident, but I saw enough at the end of the season to believe he will probably get close to the levels he showed during his very brief pomp), but Cornelius..... no thanks.
I’d love to see a top striker come in, but I’m not confident we will see one.
Deluded I probably am, but I rate Zohore highly and we also have Ward who can do a job, Reid and Bogle atm.
Paterson also played half the Premier League season up there, so I don’t think we are desperate
3 starters.. need to add Paterson and Murphy ( who was a massive hit last time at this level), Reid ( who can play no 10) and Damour who’s still here.
As for ‘ Bacuna is shit’, he had a poor game v Palace but in his appearances away from home Man U and IIRC , Brighton & Southampton he looked a decent player - and we won all 3.
Even then too few appearances to judge him on and I remember him being decent for Reading against us.
Wouldn’t say Bryson was better than him.
Then you have Grujic who didn’t play a lot and was inconsistent and Gunnar who wasalso injured half the season and was mediocre at best. Peltier had a couple of runs in there due to the injury- proneness of 3-4 on Wrighty’s list.
If we don’t get anyone in the yes in centre mid we are weaker ( and short)
There will probably be 2 more Centre mids coming in, but out wide and in the no 10 position we are stronger now.
I’ve also got high hopes for Sion Spence from our youth.
Depending on who the 2 we bring inare we could be stronger there.
Let’s not forget Tomlin, who won us a few points season before last even with his limited appearances
Can’t see him being involved next year unless he’s served his sentence and can move to South Wales and knuckle down to proper training etc..
Even then it’s probably a choice between him and Reid and Reid gets my vote
If then team Is going to challenge we’ll need a couple of players up to the standard if Arter in central midfield. Ralls is ok but nothing out of this world. To suggest we can go with the squad pretty much as it is is silly imo.
We could probably do with a proven striker as well.
Bacuna is not SHIT shit and maybe with Peltier as cover we’ll be ok.

Heres the name not seen mentioned elsewhere. Done and dusted.
I often mention that QPR fan who told us we could expect underwhelming signings from Neil Warnock that end up working, well, the first bit of that certainly applies to the three names which have been identified as our most likely signings, wonder if the second bit will?
They all correspond to the Cardiff City view that you are still classed as a young player at twenty six I suppose.
I used to sign Curtis Nelson for my Football Manager City team about eight years ago.
I guess he’s being looked at as cover for what we’ve got. Can’t see him troubling the 3 we used last season, but you never know
Looks like he’s been captain for a while - at a young age and also had the armband at times at Plymouth. So unsurprisingly another leader !
Suffered s not from injuries and maybe that’s why he’s only played in the lower leagues.
England under 18, so must have something.
Just hope this doesn’t mean Morrison or Manga are going.. or that there’s bad news on Sol’s injury
Lewis Holtby ,whoever he is, being mentioned
Ex Spurs
Eh? So a player released when he was 16 years old can't improve and come back a better player? Also, Bristol Rovers have only "released" him as he opted to run down his contract to try his luck at a higher level. Reports say that four Championship teams are keen on him. I've only seen him play for Wales but from what I saw, I was quite impressed.
My understanding is that he didn't sign a new contact at Bristol Rovers because he was looking to take a step up and, based on the qualities he's shown over several years, is being allowed to do so with a good amount of support. He was released by City 8 years ago as a 16 year old so a lot has changed in that time.
Some fantastic Zohore spellings in this thread if nothing else 👍👍👍
Sunderland report we have beaten them to sign Curtis Nelson Oxford united captain central defender

He was released as a 16-year old by Stoke City. He can't be any good :sherlock:
To partially answer my own question regarding Lockyer, I imagine that it could have been any number of things separating the two players and that it could potentially be decision that the player has made (not wanting to start off as a third or fourth choice) as much as the team. Perhaps we should instead be giving credit to Warnock for picking up another bargain and what appears to be a ball-playing CB as his first signing of a summer - who in the premier league pundits room would have predicted that? Is this the long term replacement for Bamba?
