For their goal, I thought it was Bennett that gave the ball away trying to play on the edge of our box? Still had plenty of time to close him down on the edge of the box mind!

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
I thought he did OK. Often he is upfront on his own and I thought he won many headers and the ball when up to e defenders were on him.

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
I've never understood why Bogle was shunted aside so easily when he first came here and we instead pursued the likes of Madine and Ward. He's a little untidy at times but he's scored plenty of goals in his career and he's a handful in the Championship.
Glatzel has potential but he's new to this league.Too early to be writing him off.

Agreed based on his performances on the pitch the 1st time round. But on top of the absolutely stupid red card at Wurzels, he supposedly had a poor attitude in training and turned up late on a number of occasions.
Hopefully he’s got his head straight this time around, as although sometimes I don’t think he knows what he’s doing, he does make things happen. He’s got a decent left foot, along with pace and strength.

Not really true. Sometimes it's much harder to find your way into a game coming on as a sub.

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
He is working hard but things not going right for him in front of goal. Should we be more patient? How has Bogle done when he's started?

So it is true just not all the time...

That explains a lot then.

You've got as much chance of collecting your pint as the OP has of getting to 25 posts.

Hes had no consistency in who hes had playing around him so far. Hes a decent player who will soon find his feet.

I'll take a pint, seems no lose to me

Agreed. He’s actually linked up well when he’s had a bit of support and he works bloody hard in what can be a thankless role at times. He’s snatched at a few chances but I think once he scores once, it’ll give him the confidence to kick on.

Bogle did more in 20 minutes.
I'm just replying for the FREE PINT

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
Here's something revolutionary then, how about we play 4-4-2 & play Glatzel & Bogle up front mix & match with Ward & Vassell.
Put 4 in the middle and try & match up with the opposition, instead of being continually over run 4 on 3. We score once in a blue moon from wide positions. Tomlin, Ralls, Pack (Vaulks) plus one of the wide players tucked in!

He'll score more than ten!!!
He just needs that first as quickly as possible the pressure is already showing on him!
Peroni, please!

I'd go along with this.
I think he has what it takes to score quite a few in this league and some of the quality touches, even last night, show he is an upgrade on Ken.
He has won more headers in 3 games than Ken did all season, has run more and for me looks a lot more interested.
His first goal will come soon I'm sure.
P.S get me down for that pint.

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
I'll add that our strikers feed off scraps here.
Murphy seems to see it as the Murphy show. He steps over, beats his man for pace but 9 times out of 10 ends in an off target shot or a cross that is either blocked, cleared or simply doesn't get into the danger area. The same applies from the other side without the need for the showboating stuff.
We also have very little creativity through the middle. If we did have somebody who could put a ball through then we would see a lot better from our strikers as a whole.
-
Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
He gets in great positions but he hasn't settled into the rhythm of the team yet. Unlike Gary Madine he's looked like scoring quite a lot and I get the feeling that it will all fall into place after he scores his first goal.
He'll certainly score more than ten

Give him time to settle in FFS.
Pint of Peroni please!

Does he know that they are at the end of his legs?

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
Tomlin seems to think Glatzel is a decent player,
Bogle still has a lot to prove.
He was a least 10 yards off the pace when Hoillet scored.

It would not surprise me to see Bamba, Connolly and Peltier as a back three in some future winter games if our 4-4-1-1 needs tweaking.

We really will be scraping the barrel if we have to play Connolly.

Thats certainly an option when w need a goal. Ralls or Paterson wide of a 4 ?
-
Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
I think he'll come good, once he gets a goal and hopefully builds an understanding with Tomlin I think he'll bang in a few

Bumping for relevancy.
Players I'd start ahead of him:
-Paterson
-Bogle
-Ward
This list will grow.

I like Paterson but he looks a shadow of his former self right now.

He needs a goal and fast. I’ve no doubt he’s a decent player but it’s so hard to show it the way we play and the one chance he gets, he seems to snatch at the moment. He needs to get a goal and his confidence will grow.
I would have taken him off for Bogle today though instead of bringing NML on.

So you’re saying it’s the player and not the system we play?
Ok.
We could’ve bought Lewandowski from the German league and he’d struggle in this team.

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
I like him and I still think he'll bang a few in for us

What, direct football?
We signed a striker who's 6ft3 and not only does he not win headers, but he barely challenges for them (he didn't attempt to flick any of our long throws tonight, and every time we went long in the second half, we deliberately aimed for Paterson).
What service did Mitrovic get for them? I'd argue even less than Glatzel got but he still made himself a handful, protected the ball, played in others and bagged himself a goal.

Be honest, the service Glatzel was atrocious tonight!

Re: Robert Glatzel - How soon can we get rid of him?
Harry Kane upfront for us would struggle.
I think there is a possibility that Tomlinson and Glatzel will come good - if there given time.
