It may be Germany's biggest selling newspaper but it has a history of gutter-level reporting and using innocent people as fodder by vilifying them and lying about them.
It has zero gravitas and comes from the same place as The Daily Mail in many respects.
It even prompted Heinrich Böll, the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature, to write 'The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum', a book about an innocent individual being made a hate figure due to the lies and distortions published by the German red-tops, in particular 'Bild', in their need to print scandal.

Like everywhere else in the world there is a, spectrum of opinion in Germany and some will people will indeed have the same opionion of the authorr but I wouldn't expect Bild to make an effort to make a stab at balance in any respect.

OK, interesting. Wouldn't you then expect such a newspaper to rubbish the UK, if it's Germany's equivalent of the Daily Mail? i.e. xenophobic/nationalistic?

I sure your right about its position , it Is though a German point of view and he is probably not alone ,as its is Germany biggest selling paper , I found the one line very interesting ,see below :

South Sudan in no welfare safety net shocker.

It also contains almost every country in the world that I could live in and feel safe.

Wow great example.

The quote is about the global world v Europe last time I looked at a map , South Sudan was a very small part , in fact ridiculously small .

You do come up with some very strange comparisons,I guess it helps your narrow narrative .

I am a bit concerned that your first reaction to a country having comprehensive welfare system is that it is bad. It's not helping you maintain that pretence that you are an 'old school socialist' (you know, the ones that introduced a comprehensive welfare system).

I thought the point I was making was self evident. There are probably 20 countries in Europe that I would quite happily live in. There possibly aren't 20 more in the rest of the world. It's not narrow minded to realise how lucky we are to live in a European country, we won the birth lottery.

If you think a comprehensive welfare system is a bad thing then there are plenty of places you could move to in order to get away from it. Are you gainfully employed right now?

Did you question whether this "safe haven of benefits" include state pensions etc? I can't see a lot of underdeveloped nations having things like statutory sick pay either... can you?

Because, like Eric pointed out to you through the obvious sarcasm that you missed - I don't think a lot of nations have a system which is intended to look after their citizens (ours is, but it's debatable whether it's succeeding with its intentions). Thankfully, a lot of EU members do - which should be a positive, not a negative.

It's amazing how you say that you were a Labour supporter and also voted to remain in the EU - yet you show nothing but to make people think the opposite when you post your opinion on here.
