He says stories in the media had "created a very bad atmosphere around my home" - making it a "target - and that he worried about "the possibility of leaving my wife and child at home all day ... while I worked at No 10".

The whole point about staying home is not to put excess pressures on the NHS away from home. He goes away and his son ends up in hospital putting pressure on the nhs in a less densely populated area.

First thing to say is that the clock on the screen said 16.32 when Dominic Cummings started talking in a press briefing that we were told would start at 4 o clock. I know late attendance for these sort of things is the norm for some people, but this was an address to the country and it did not look good.
Cummings seems to believe that the anger people feel is down to how this matter has been reported. I can't speak for others, but what made me incredulous was the fact that he chose to drive 260 miles with his child while he and his wife were suffering with symptoms (albeit not a fever and continuous dry cough).
It seems to that, At the very least, the judgement Dominic Cummings showed was very questionable and worrying for the country given the role he has in the way the country is run.
