But if the pubs weren't open they wouldn't be able to go out and act like dicks in an enclosed area full of alcohol.
The beaches were closed, soon as they opened people were fighting, it's inevitable it will happen in the pubs, but I suppose that'll happen if they open them now or in December as well and will soon fizzle out.
I agree with you.
I like a good analogy to try to explain things to people - so for those who are defending Boris, how's this...
Boris Johnson legalises all gun ownership in the UK again. People are ultimately responsible for using them and potentially killing people. Boris Johnson's hands are clean as he didn't pull the trigger, in your eyes.

But if everything goes OK will you say 'OK the police were wrong on this occasion and Boris was right' or will you just say he was lucky and it will happen next weekend?

Are "right" and "lucky" mutually exclusive? :hehe:

They're letting them open at 6am! I agree that people have to take responsibility for their own actions but letting them open that early is insane https://twitter.com/SkyNews/status/1...644563456?s=20

That’s a decent attempt to parody a reality that already feels like a parody.

Do you actually think about what you’re trying to say or just bang your head upon the keyboard and hope for the best?

Re: Is it going to kick off this weekend in the pubs in england ?
I suppose if we're expecting a bit of bother then we should predict the region. I'm going for South East England-Town-Hastings-Weather pending of course.

There would probably be more trouble if they broke them in gently and opened from midday to 6pm.

Re: Is it going to kick off this weekend in the pubs in england ?
Seems to be that a more sensible option would have been a limited hours opening. Say 1700-2200. People can go in for food, and the ones who just go to get drunk have less time there. Then gradually get back to normal hours so we don't go straight from no pub to FULL PUB on one day.
We all know that if they're open from 0600 after lockdown there will be people in there in the morning and stay there all day, that's what British people are like.

It certainly saves money buying them drinks

Re: Is it going to kick off this weekend in the pubs in england ?
I've just read that the 6am thing isn't an earlier opening time, rather it's to stop the midnight parties at pubs tonight. My 1700-2200 is the way to go though, they're just moving the problem on

Re: Is it going to kick off this weekend in the pubs in england ?
If it pisses down this weekend everyone will stay at home anyway

Re: Is it going to kick off this weekend in the pubs in england ?

Just watching News at 10, and it kicks off with “Super Saturday” tomorrow. Typical buzz term made up quickly. Its like they are wanting folk to get smashed and cause bother. Surely not 🙄

Re: Is it going to kick off this weekend in the pubs in england ?
these same people who will be getting pissed in pubs will be the same who were in parks / beaches / open spaces getting pissed last weekend
its going to be the same people, so not much will change apart from the pubs will be earning a few quid

Washington Tyne and Wear. It's a banker, they fight in every pub there every bank holiday monday and that's when they had a drink the day before.v After so many weeks without a fight anything could happen

I'm not sure that's true.
Through my job I know and speak with the biggest security companies in the country and some of the biggest venues and nearly all have been desperate for consistent guidance. Be it around what venues can do, what DS can do, how loud music can be played, what sport can be shown or numbers admitted to a venue. Its really been pathetic.
Unfortunately its been different messages coming from each police force, local authority and Govt. It's a shambles.
Thankfully Wales and the other devolved powers seem to be sitting back and waiting for England to act and learn from their lessons.
A more cynical person may say waiting for them to **** up then doing it properly.

Wara teg, as the man who regularly responds with  to anyone who asks you something you don’t want to get involved in:hehe:
The clue was in “Police and medical advice...” If it does go awry today or there’s consequences in a couple of weeks who do you suppose could be to blame?
Don’t worry, I can see you’re faith in Boris is justified, he’s following the science.

I only answer  to Jirga or one of his multi-identities. Are you claiming to be he?
I don't disagree that if it goes awry today he will have to shoulder the blame for the decision but if it all goes well will you be prepard to conceed that he got it right/ That is all I asked, and you still haven't answered it.

Re: Is it going to kick off this weekend in the pubs in england ?
welcome to the Pansy message board. Folk getting upset in case there's a bit of noise and rumbustious activity when the pubs open after 4 months. And what about all those sharp scissors at the hairdressers ?
OOOOOOh, it's all Boris's fault. Load of poofs..

Pubs round here are also very expensive, crap beer generally and unappealing. £5-£6 for a pint.
I’d rather source my own beers and drink with friends in the garden.

All that pent up frustration is showing.
Are you having problems in the bedroom, Monkfish? Is it a 'Pele' problem? The missus isn't putting out any more?
