Re: A CCFC best & worst Loan player X1 ?
Just to correct a few things said above, Chris Rigott and Billy Woof weren't on loan to us, they were on short term deals. Riggot got injured again and then retired. Bill Woof got upset when he was dropped after one goalscoring game and walked out on the club. I think he was on a one week or one month contract.
And J Lloyd Samuel can't play in the team because he died 2 years ago!

He was better than Jazz Richards, but that isn't saying much.
Re: A CCFC best & worst Loan player X1 ?
Gerry Francis should be in the best team but doubt whether many will remember him. There was also a Japanese bloke signed on loan from from WBA who was decent.

Eddie Newton was an inspired loan. From a top division team like Chelsea to a 4th division team.
I'm surprised his career never really took off.
I wish he stayed as we may have kicked on.
Newton and Blake would be fab to have seen together..
But we didn't have 2 brass farthings to rub together so I doubt we could have afforded him.

Michael Ricketts did well for us when he played up front with Cameron Jerome and you would have to say Kasper Schmeichel played a big part in keeping us up a decade or so ago. Danny Drinkwater was disappointing whilst Julian Grey and Karim Frei pretty awful.

Gerry Francis would have got into the best team on reputation, but not on performance! Mind you, he was in a Durban team as I remember it, so he had no chance!
Inamoto's a good shout mind.

My recollection of Julien Grey is different to yours - i was disappointed we didn't sign him permanently.

Eddie Newton had rotten luck with injuries, but he didn't have too bad a career;-

I remember Gerry Francis playing for us, must have been late 80's? Wasn't that the year we had that strange five player swap with Newport?
Re: A CCFC best & worst Loan player X1 ?
Gerry Francis wasn't a loan player either, he was on a short term contract , 2 months I think.
Schmeichel was the best loan goalkeeper, Heaton wasn't;t great when he was on loan to us but was really good when he signed permanently.
Other stand out loan signings for me are Koumas, Bellamy, Chopra (before he re signed), Loovens, O'Neill, Gray.
