I don't recall seeing many shows at St David's Hall. Siouxsie & The Banshees. Nico/John Cooper Clarke are the only ones I remember.

A good band, but a bit boring and dreary after a while. I'd rather Small Faces.

Re: The Kinks were a bloody good band
Always thought Big Black Smoke was a brilliant arrangement/production as well as the lyrics being really good too.

Of course I have. I still have some of their LPs.

Re: The Kinks were a bloody good band
One of my all time favourite bands. Waterloo Sunset has special nostalgic memories for me because as a student in London from '65 to '68 I lived near the Thames in Chelsea and there were some spectacular sunsets which I was able to view from my west-facing room and thinking of my girlfriend back home in Wales. Seems like only yesterday!

Saw a documentary last year how they made Riders On The Storm. Really interesting to learn how it came about. They produced some great songs.

The UK royalties of Hello I love you was paid to Ray Davies. The reason being the riff on Hello I Love you was the same as All day and all of the night.

Re: The Love Sculpture were a bloody good band.
If not mistaken, wasn’t Congo from Barry ? The family lived up one of streets near The Park … Castle St, Bell St ?
I can remember his (much) younger brother from Barry Comp …. and obviously The Park !

You are correct. Congo was from Barry. As well as being a drummer he was also a flautest, or so he said, with the Welsh National Youth Orchestra. He lived on one of the streets to the right of the main road into Barry from the turning near the airport.

Re: The Love Sculpture were a bloody good band.
Too white man bluesish for me. And noodley. I respect Dave Edmunds as artist though.

A mate of mine, also named Dave Edmunds is a serial guitar god stalker. Him and his mate love to see the homes of the rich and famous, especially guitarists. Anyway, one day he was walking near the home of his all-time hero Jeff Beck, when out of the blue a guy on a quad bike appeared and told him to p**s off. Turned out to be Mr Beck himself. My mate sent a letter of apology to him, saying that he was not on his land but nevertheless apologised for any upset caused. A few days later he had a phone call from Jeff Beck's manager asking if he was THE Dave Edmunds as Jeff had played with him on a number of occasions. He said he wasn't and they had a good laugh about it, having a chat for half an hour about all things Beck related.
