Re: Truss eyes bonfire of workers rights to boos economy
I heard that Liz Truss is in fact Elvis Pressley dressed as a middle aged lady.
Some socialists on twitter of VERY high repute have it on very good authority that Elvis left Tennessee in the 80s because he was so gutted about the civils rights laws changing, so he came here and bunkered down for 30 years biding his time and writing a few new tracks.
That time is now, and Elvis Truss's first act will be to privatise the NHS and make it more like a US system, before banning the right to strike and anyone who wants to strike will be forced to kiss a photo of Nigel Farage first.
Anyone who demands a free operation will allegedly be force fed his new tracks and have BREXIT SHAPED pins stuck in their eyes unless they are Tories in which case Truss/Elvis will lovingly sing You are always on my mind whilst stroking their arms softly.

Why is Europe getting also hammered then? Germany is in a worse state than we are, and Macron just told the French people that the "end of abundance" has arrived.

I've not argued against the right to strike. There needs to be a balance though. The 70s was an example of too much power in the hands of unions. Turned us into "The sick man of Europe"

Re: Truss eyes bonfire of workers rights to boos economy
The balance between unions and employers was too much in favour of the former forty to fifty years ago. Finally, after decades of “correcting” this fault, there are signs that people are beginning to realise that the balance needs to turn back towards the employee somewhat.

I think there will be a lot of rioting and people taking to the streets. Several Poll Tax style Uprisings will happen. People have had enough of the tories. Just my thoughts, that's all

I was a born socialist, card carrying member for years , attending conferences , still am to the core, just don't like what surrounds it these days and I cannot forgive Corbyn for letting his personal ideology put Labour back years , hopefully Raynor will be gone soon and I can re consider my position .
I think Wes Streeting is a leader in waiting talks a lot of sense .. or they could drop their strange dislike of having a female leader and give it to the wonderful Jess Phillips who is a breathe of fresh air ..

They are the problem their not on power , that been the case since Blair .
You have to become electable and convince all voters your policies is what they want .
It is achievable as Blair showed that with his brilliant landslide victories and vision that appealed
Yes Labour has created the beast we have :
They imploded after Blair instead of building on it .
Brown was the wrong choice .
They failed in 2010 to form a collation with Liberals .
They picked the wrong Miliband because of their Blair paranoia .
Then loopy Ed introduced a membership scheme that let all the loops in, and vote for Corbyn as its leader.
Corbyn marginalized good centralist and talented folk .
Corbyn fails to back remain or swallow his pride and vote for May's deal ( that would have stopped Boris ) .
Labour then failed to vote for something new in a vibrant fresh down to earth lady leader like Jess Phillips .
Now they want Sir Kier gone as you can see for the careful /clever strikes/ picket lines arguments as the left circles him like vultures.
On and on we go ..
Yes Labour is responsible fop its own problems , the difference between the parties in my humble view one ( Tories ) has the in fights but always wants power the other is driven internally by too much ideology ..

In what way? We have some of the highest standards in Europe, with great opportunities. What's the average wage across the EU? Minimum wage? People risk life to get here for a reason. The one reason we could be a laughing stock is the fact that we(the native Brits) will be a minority by 2066 and everyone is too scared to mention it or object, even though it's a very unpopular prospect amongst voters.

Re: Truss eyes bonfire of workers rights to boos economy
Truss wins 81,000 to 60,000 - with 172,000 eligible voters, she gets less than half of them. Apaarently, Johnson is admired from “Kiev to Carlisle”
