Is it an old one?
I've just had a new one from British Gas, seems to work so far, but haven't had it long.

I have a reason not to have one installed just yet: my energy supplier overestimated my gas bill about 6 months ago and charged me at what was then the going rate. Until my consumption reaches their overestimated reading it's in my interest to use gas at what is effectively a cheaper rate and declare my usage at very low levels in the meantime.

thats the way  i refused my new direct debit after they wouldnt justify it going from i think £85 to something like £190 a month so i decided to pay for what i use ,they now email my annual increase will be approx £540 on dual fuel not including the £400 government help

Re: Anyone turned the heating on yet?
A mate works at Duffryn Gardens and they have a pile of seasoned logs 🪵 they’ve chopped up from storm damaged trees
He kindly drops a van full off for me in exchange for tequila lol
Apart from that I always buy kiln dried logs from Home Bargains
£3.99 a bag I think it’s 10 kilo’s
A bag would last two nights
I usually put a couple of clothes airers in front as well to dry so it’s handy for that
I don’t light it every night
like Sludge I much prefer this time of year
Cooler nights 😊👍

You will probably need to pair it again to the receiver unit, I usually have to do do this once a year or when the battery in the thermostat dies.

How do you pair it?
It’s next to it at the moment but nowt going on…replaced it once a few years ago; not the receiver though just the thermostat but; maybe receivers gone down….

Do you know whether it's wired to the mains or battery?

Re: Anyone turned the heating on yet?
It’s the Wharf
Where the Wharf pub used to be on Schooner Way
She only moved in last month
Her place is overlooking the water and there’s fishermen here all the time
Wharf angling club I think it’s called
Give me a shout
I’m the grey haired old fella pissed on red wine 🍷 lol

I know it , there's a canal that joins the Dock
Loads of big pike in there
But the wharf is a private fishing club just for people who like catching carp
Is the pub still there ?

Big pike?
In the illegal wharf bit or the legal part?
-
Re: Anyone turned the heating on yet?
Exceptional legs on this rather fine Malbec but not Queen Anne SP
and No Sludge
The pub’s unfortunately resigned into the annals of Cardiff history
However the Holiday inn is next door and we do use the bar which is nice 😊

In the canal leading into the wharf Dock and in the Dock itself

There's a wooden rotting tugboat in the Dock, just by the pub ?
Looks like something out of Jaws
It was there the last time I was in the place
About 20 years ago

Re: Anyone turned the heating on yet?
It’s definitely not there anymore Sludge
The only thing I’ve seen that’s remotely nautical is a mysterious periscope that often appears then descends back into the murky depths 🤔

That's sludge that is.
With his skinny's on, spying on your daughter and her mates.
Stick a prawn in the water on the end of a line and he'll come after it.

Think it’s all gone…had a flat by there when it was “the bay” 30 years ago now, boy has that place changed. Used to quite like the wharf and the cardiff bay hotel up the way, now full of Afghani refugees.

It's not political and it's of interest to most people on here, and the team read this and use heating for their homes, so it's ok
