Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
should be two up and a man up
looks like we are not getting anything today
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Couldn’t score in a brothel ffs

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Perfect height for the keeper to save.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Can't miss pens where we are this season ffs
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I give Ralls credit for stepping up but hes never convinced me. Sums up our attacking options.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
At least we seem to be trying to go forward.....even if it leaves us a bit open at the back.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
So I know there is a double jeopardy rule in football now, but how can that one be a yellow and Jack Simpsons the other week be a red

I’d agree with you, but Simpson’s card got rescinded.

Because there’s no consistency, just down to the whim of the ref on the day
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
ok strike but great height for the keeper... a retro like ralls should know better...
not sure how the yellow card thing works now, but that would be my target now, press him

Yes it got rescinded because there was no contact, when reviewed. but in real time the referee believed there was contact so gave a penalty and red card, this referee today also believed there to be contact in a similar situation but awards a penalty and yellow card
See my point ?

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We look much better going forward....Philogene has confidence now.
Crowd getting restless.
BUT....we don't usually have this much attacking pressure....HAVE to score in this period...and don't get caught by a sucker breakaway.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Been the better team so far just need to convert these chances.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We’re going to pay if we don’t cash in on this dominance soon.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We are battering them. Win or lose, this is good.

Lose and all the good play means nothing

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Estupinan of Hull sent off. He'll miss Tuesday. He's their top scorer.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Not an easy chance for Harris but needs to do better.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Another chance missed - and the player who pulled o dowda back then had already been booked so if the ref had seen it it’s a 2nd yellow card

yes...a decent striker would have put that away.....
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
For all his defensive deficiencies Nkounkou's attacking vision and passing is sublime.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
we should be 4 up by now... we are playing ok sometimes well with some nice moves but where is the clinical
we have to put these chances away

It does. We won't need a win.

It's work in progress. We need patience.

Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Oh for a striker! Or just a player who can get a decent strike off. Philogene, while going on excellent dribbles, inevitably finishes it off with a powder puff finish as if the run has knackered him, much improved though and very exciting on times. Harris, unfortunately, just hasn’t got it. Wintle had an opportunity to get a shot off earlier in the half but opted to lay it off, so frustrating.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
If only the goals were two inches higher .

Them's the rules!
Sucker punch incoming?
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Decent first half, still lacking that bit of quality. I feel Robinson would have got a goal.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I hope it's not going to be a game of two half's. Nice to see Hudson has tried to go on the offensive....and it is paying off apart from the lack of a striker(!),
Hope the heads don't go down because they have not scored.....it will (should) come.....

Ojo's pretty frustrating too IMHO.

Usually means we go home with 0 points

Loses the ball far too often. There's no end product.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
so, who takes penalties for us now? I don’t see anyone in the squad I’d be confident about.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We seem to be picking up everything in midfield, which is encouraging.
I'm impressed with our passages of play, so too are the Sunderland commentators in all fairness.
-
Re: SUNDERLAND v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Sunderland give the ball away more often than we do.
Harris and Ojo aren't championship players.
Hope they prove me wrong 2nd half

Agreed, Harris likes him though.

I would have given it to Philogene. His tail is up after his goal in the last game.
