What a game...we ARE now safe!!!
Hopefully we can now play tomorrow without tension and beat Huddersfield, which would mean THEY go below Reading (on goal difference), albeit with a game in hand.
-
City definitely safe

Mind you, I’ve maintained a fifty five year old dislike of Hamburg solely because of that fluke goal.

Re: City definitely safe
How vital was that last gasp winner against Reading a while ago?

Re: City definitely safe

Re: FT: Reading 1 - 1 Wigan. Cardiff are staying up
I hope they're up for the Huddersfield game tomorrow. I'd love 3 more points tomorrow.

Re: FT: Reading 1 - 1 Wigan. Cardiff are staying up
Huddersfield need to lose one of their games this coming week (Cardiff A and Sheff Utd H) to give Reading a chance to overtake them when they face each other on the final day.
Reading have to win at The John Smiths Stadium on May 8, anything less is not enough.
Rotherham could still go down if they lose both of their remaining games (M'boro H and Wigan A). A point should be enough as they have a +8 GD on Reading.
So come on Cardiff, let's do Pearcey a favour tomorrow.

Re: FT: Reading 1 - 1 Wigan. Cardiff are staying up
I'll be honest I didn't think we would do it so I am absolutely chuffed we survived. We need to have a big sort out this summer though.

I worked it out as, City beat Hudds by 1, Sheff Utd beat Hudds by 1, a draw is enough for Reading then on the last day of the season, they stay up on GD of 1
I hope reading stay up

I hope Huddersfield stay up.
Why the Reading love in after their clubs accusations against our fans.?

Thats not right is it.?
2 draws and Reading overtake them with a win.
2 defeats and a Reading point v Huddersfield would be enough for them to overtake Hudds.

Re: FT: Reading 1 - 1 Wigan. Cardiff are staying up
The goal differences are very close between Reading and Huddersfield, so the fact that the Royals have scored four more goals could become decisive.

Huddersfield have a better GD by 1. But if they lose both games in hand it would be worse.
Therefore a draw final game would see Reading safe.
Huddersfield get 1 point from the 2 and they just need a point.
Or have I got it all wrong? I have been in the pub all afternoon.🤣

Re: FT: Reading 1 - 1 Wigan. Cardiff are staying up
Sorry, yes. I was assuming Huddersfield will get something in their next two games.
If they lose them both Reading can go to Huddersfield needing a point.

This.
I’d rather a working class club do better than those Waitrose Wankers.

Yes please Paul. It will be a stay of execution. We haven’t won since February and haven’t won away from home since before the World Cup. We really have supported the team this season but it’s been grim and the 6 point deduction has killed us.
