Not for me, too old - I reckon he'll end up at a better team than us anyway.

We've got the makings of a decent Championship standard midfield, but our versions of box to box players carry little or no goal threat.
We clearly need a striker and I'd want to see O'Dowda being used more as winger, but, even then, we'd still need another winger because, without Philogene, I don't see anyone who is of the standard required in that position. Two other things I'd be prioritising through the summer is trying to get contracts sorted out with some members of the squad whose deals run out next year and making more use of players such as Colwill, Davies, Bagan (if he stays) and Denham- all of whom have a fair amount of Championship experience where they could hardly be termed disasters.
Happens every year on the ‘keep sell loan’ polls that come out and the majority rule that we should only keep enough players for a 5 a side team.

I believe that’s been looked at too isn’t it

In fairness, given the players we've had since we came down, I can't say I argue with the poll results :hehe:

Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Not a rumour but I see Regan Poole has rejected a contract offer and will be leaving Lincoln this summer. Been very impressive in League 1 by all accounts and the Lincoln fans are pretty sure he's Championship bound
Could be a nice option for us at the back, very versatile across a back 5 and provide backup/cover for Ng & Romeo
-
Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Morgan Fox and Jagielka released by Stoke

I've heard we're going to sign Rhys Weston from Arsenal and Graham Kavanagh and Peter Thorne from Stoke for millions.

Way too sensible for City

Probably way too expensive for us in terms of wages. If he's left there for the Championship, he's looking to earn as much as he can.

He's left Lincoln, he's the sort of player we should be targeting. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at Ipswich or Plymouth. He's also a local lad, so there's less risk of him not settling. I'll admit I've not seen loads of him but I'd be shocked if he was out of our price range. Our budget is bigger than most would have you believe. You can't carry 30 pros on the budget some seem to want to believe we have.

Would be a great signing. Better than what we have.
-
Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Regen Poole would be a great signing, played 45/46 games in each of the past 2 League One seasons, Lincolns captain, aged 24 with potential for further growth or resale and a local lad. I'm sure any contract we offer would be an increase on L1 wages anyway.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Alfie May rumour of a move from Cheltenham to Charlton. Forget the football snobbery he’d be a great fit for City. Shame we can’t afford £100k
-
Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Norwich moving quick, apparently closing in on Ashley Barnes.
Meanwhile...who's our manager for next season?
-
Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Swansea, Bristol City and a handful of others linked with Regan Poole.
-
Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
We made our first summer signing on 13th May last year. Doesn't look like we'll be starting that early this year.

And it made a massive difference to our season. Hopefully they are being more diligent this time rather than buying any old tat

Swansea have been relying on regularly selling players for decent money, something which we have largely failed to do , but with some leaving. for free this summer and I don't recall any big sales last summer either they might also need to be tightening their belts

They've also got a smaller budget than us...
We spend wayyyyyyy too much on wages by having big squads.

We've gone shopping in Denmark before - with mixed results,
There's a good 21 year old midfielder called Jacob Christiansen who will be out of contract in June - linked to Fulham though

Lucas Joao. What can I say? :hehe:
I just don’t know.
At his best he is sublime. At his worst absolutely shocking and looks totally disinterested.
He decided to go on holiday before the final game of the season and his Reading career which infuriated me.
Capable of sublime goals. Capable of missing open goals from a few yards out.
He did have an excellent goals scored per game ratio for us although the goals dried up this season.
Worth a punt on a free but he will frustrate as much as delight.

We get a bigger budget because we host the Welsh language forum.

We are in desperate need for a proper centre forward to lead the line, I'd say it's more important to our coming season than whichever chump we get to do the managers job, and if there's a championship quality striker, potentially available without a transfer fee then you'd hope that we are all over it.
in the last 2 seasons the arrivals of Hughil, Kaba and even Ikpeazu have made a real difference to our attacking capabilities and we aren't exactly talking about world beaters with those players.
such an important position for us to fill, and there are only going to be so many available on. a free or loan

Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Jack Colback is being released by Forest.
33 but could add a bit of bite
-
Re: Transfer Rumours | Summer 2023
Blackburn have released Bradley Dack. Apparently he wants regular football, which I'm sure we could offer, but also to maintain his wages, which might be an issue. No idea what he's on but clearly more than Blackburn want to offer.

Surprised he struggled to get in the team there. Saw on Wikipedia that he had 33 appearances but only 12 starts. Thought he was better than that and exactly the kind of player we should be going in for if we were serious about getting better.
