I think something £5 billion [of taxpayers' money] has gone in providing weapons to Ukraine, and yes, as with all wars folk are making money.
Our car insurance -renewed this week - has gone from £190 to £260, that's close to 40% increase. Inflation is, I'm sure, close to 20% not 8 or 9%. Drinks, meals, holidays, all rocketing up with no end in sight. The government spent close to half a trillion pounds on Covid. The simple rule of inflation is if you increase the amount of money in circulation with the same amount of goods and services, everything will go up. Apart from fuel it's got bugger all to do with Ukraine/Russia..
