If we’re in the mixer in January then it’s a no brainer we have to go for Moore. He could be the difference between play offs or not.
If we’re not, no point.

not sure about a striker but this fellas name keeps popping up in various circles

might be nothing of course but thought it was worthy of a post

I think it's paying out money for something we don't need
Re: Do we really need to be paying out money for a striker ?
Moore would make a big difference. Ugbo does not lead the line like he would.

Moore is into his 30s. If we are comfortable in mid table lets build a young team that can take us forward over the next few years. If Grant continues to impress lets get him tied up on a permanent deal the same with Bowler.
January window id be looking at players to improve us to eventually challenge for promotion.
I think Kiefer would just be a short term fix.
If he was cheap ie under a million then maybe.

It's more of a case of grant being in the last chance saloon isn't it ?

Hes starting to look a real asset to us though. Theres obviously the risk of a downturn and hes playing for a contract.
We cant pay loan fees so I think theres a fair chance the loanees we have theres a purchase agreement involved.

This is player we need
Incoming in January nqat
Re: Do we really need to be paying out money for a striker ?
Yes If we get into play offs come Jan we will need all the skill we can grab .. plus a ball carrying centre back ..
Re: Do we really need to be paying out money for a striker ?
I don't see the point of debating the relative abilities of Kaba and Ugbo.
The thread questions the need for a new striker. It is the one position that there is a glaring need for us to upgrade.
If we are to improve as a team and challenge for the play offs we need a striker who is a lot better than either Kaba or Ugbo. Keiffer Moore would be one, but if Tan is prepared to spend some real money maybe there are others.
I'd be more than happy with Moore, but he wouldn't be a good medium or long term 'investment'. I have a feeling that after the Warnock transfer dealings, if we pay big transfer fees again it will be on younger players who are gong to retain or increase their value.
