I don't understand how a goalie gets beaten from there unless he is in the wrong place.

A triple sub!
Surprised Tanner's stayed on

It was an excellent execution by their lad. I'm not quite sure why this keeper has the gig

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
Excellent. Got them just where we want them. The usual last-minute smash and grab is all set up now.
🙏

He's been really poor, should imagine he's the one coming off for Colwill

We’ll I’m glad we’re playing from the back as his kicking is ****ing dreadful

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
Plenty of time but WBA are doing a number on us without having to do too much, pass move, press with pace
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
Tanner clearly has no confidence tonight, if he’s not going to run at the opposition fullbacks he shouldn’t be on the pitch. He’s not there for his pinpoint passing.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
We just can’t get anywhere near them this half.
I still think that the keeper should have done better.

There shape is excellent as well. We ran out of ideas after 6 minutes and West Brom haven't really had to work that hard in defending against us.

Should be 2 nil down.
Bad miss, thankfully!

Colwill's two shots
At least he's having a go I suppose.
Edit: great crosser mind LOL

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
Wonderful ball by Colwill. Difficult chance but got it all wrong…
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
What's Siopis doing taking that shot on?
Pretty poor all round tonight
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
Buluts fault for picking that clown in goal
Shit overall today really poor.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
Well that was certainly a game of football.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
FFS!
Disappointing game all round.

There was about 5 seconds left, although yeah, ambitious at best...
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
What? No last-minute one-two punch?
:frown:
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
WBA are a good side but we were poor tonight. I hope Alnwick gets back in goal by the next game.

Even more reason not take on a, what, 35 yard volley? Get it wide for one last ball into the box. There was 30 seconds to go so time for that at least
West Brom completely controlled that second half, we had nothing going forward save a couple of sparks now and then

Nope, it was desperate, no quality.

I’ve watched it back a few times but there isn’t an angle that shows it clearly but the keeper saw it all the way so I was surprised that it went in.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
Disappointing.
It would have been tough with a full starting 11. West Brom were very disciplined in their shape and pressing, and deserved the win on their 2nd half performance.
Hope that we can hang in there and pick up a couple of results in December before fresh faces return and we get two creative players back.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
I thought we had not a bad opening 20 min but once WBA got the foothold in the game, gave us a football lesson, not seen all the games but of the ones i have, no other team has made us look that ordinary. Disappointing but there is always the next game :ayatollah:

Yup, i do agree, but how the ball approached him would have been a factor. It was sat up, so he would have had to take 1, maybe 2 touches, with defenders approaching. He would not have been able to get it down and make the pass in time. So, **** it, i don't blame him :hehe: Colwill had his wonky 7 iron out as well.

I would agree with that.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 1 WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
West Brom proved to be nothing special in my opinion - its not like being under the cosh as we were against Leeds, Leicester alike - but on merit were the better side on the pitch tonight, and a cross come shot from Sarmiento was the difference between the two sides.
The Bad
Runarsson in the first half almost led to the first goal of the match, shades of Alnwick's mistake against Watford.
Panzo looked completely out of his depth playing left back against Fellows, the ball down the inside of him worked a charm every time and Cardiff were fortunate that McGuiness could come to the rescue again and again.
Etete when the moment came to him to use his frame and throw his head at a peach of a cross from Colwill he fluffed his lines and made a complete mess of it.
The ref missing a clear and obvious handball call on Bartley, sliding to block Ugbo's effort with both arms raised, and he basically carried the ball out of play for what would only be a corner.
The Good
Goutas and McGuiness - hardly put a foot wrong all night. A great defensive partnership and the goal conceded tonight can hardly be chalked up against them.
He may frustrate others but Colwill's cameo showed glimpses of what he brings to Cardiff. Not everything he is going to try will come off but his touch, neat interplay and willingness to move the ball forward lead to some of Cardiff's better moments in the game.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROMWICH ALBION. Match thread
In fairness West Brom did look good- very well organised with enough quality to pose a threat even if we defended well.
For those that claimed our win at Sunderland was a tactical masterclass, for the real thing look what WBA did to City tonight.

Could be worse, could be a Newcastle fan! :yikes:
