Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Not too good to go down right now without signings in January. This is as bad as anything under McCarthy.

Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The meeting on Monday worked didn’t it.

Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Great challenge by Bowler !!! Just stood there and let him go..
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Goutas made the striker's mind up for him diving in like that
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Really poor again today so far.
We just can’t get the ball (against Sheffield Wednesday!) and when we do, we can’t keep it for more than 3 seconds.
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
For Fcuk Sake!!!
We really have some players that don’t offer anything.
Robinson is not an attacking midfielder.
Grant and Bowler are very ineffective.
We just cannot hold the ball in midfield.
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
So slow... we had numbers there and we passed it backwards three times, absolutely shocking.
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Boweler has a clear wing ahead of him...what does he do...pass back......unbelievable.

Sorry but nothing compares to that WBA game

Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The only positive about this game is that we aren't playing one of the teams in this league who would be absolutely destroying us playing like this. Could change the entire forward line at half time and it wouldn't be an overreaction.
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Everything’s hurried and clumsy and Ng hitting the first man from that free kick was unforgivable.

6 shots and 4 corners in that one... 2 so far in this shocker, one was the McGuinness "volley" from 40 yards that left the stadium... I'm genuinely not sure what the other one was? I'm pretty sure the 2021 WBA team would have 4 already in this one.

Hold the ball anywhere. From a team who were comfortable knocking the ball around at the start of the season, we have become a team who constantly concede possession so cheaply.
And that just leads to pressure and the inevitable.

Not a single shot on target. We are awful.

How old is Cadamaterie? 17? 18? full of running ...nothing like our youngsters (except Tasner when in form)

That bench is so uninspiring, why not have Evans, J.Colwill or Ashford on there in place of Rinomhota or Sawyers?

Be glad you aren't watching. Clueless is kind, it's almost impossible for a team of professionals at this level to look so poor going forward.

Yes we are...problem is no-one on the bench to change that. I really don't understand why one or two of the promising youngsters are not on the bench at least....they cannot do any worse than what is being served up these days. I mean this is not Leeds/Leicester/Southampton...it is Sheffield Wednesday..>!

Bulsh1t has been found wanting, sacked in the morning!

Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
You sometimes wonder where a goal is coming from when your team is playing badly. We are struggling to create a single chance. Sheff. Wed. are a very basic, pump it quick and long type of team, yet they're absolutely strolling through this game..

When do you think ollie will decide to get back on it? Maybe today, if he's ready....
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Front 4 of Grant, Robinson, Meite and Bowler are collectively crap.
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Really, really poor.
As an attacking force I've rarely seen us look so impotent as I have over the last few weeks.
Defensively we lack sharpness.
When we press we don't press as a team with some players pressing space.. Only robinson seems to press his man.
So disjointed. We look relegation candidates at the moment.
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Absolutely dire.
Not creativity going forward. We look clueless. Not sure what Robinson offers.

Agreed.. So poor in attack.
Bowler loses the ball so often and just falls over complaining he didn't get a free kick.
Ridiculously bad.

He’s showing our forward players up.
BBC saying we’ve had two shots (none on target of course) -one was a ridiculous effort from thirty yards by McGuinness which almost went out of the ground, not a clue what the other was.
The wurzels showed last night that Hull aren’t as good as we made them look and I don’t think we’re up against much today, but Wednesday don’t need to be very good to be comfortably better than us.
Bulut talked as if we had some sort of reset this week, well, there’s no sign of any change so far and unless the second half brings an improvement, we’re definitely one of the three worst teams in the Championship currently.
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
At this rate we will need to buy players in January to avoid relegation, let alone playoffs.

Have to agree with that...it is dreadful to watch.....how can I get my boys to follow them when they play like this....?
-
Re: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Only watching on Internet updates but as soon as they score first we are in trouble as our stikeforce looks incapable of getting goals from open play.
We seem like the Championship equivalent to Man United.
What a dreadful end to 2023 after so much promise early season.
Take a draw! LOL

That we cannot compete against a side containing Wil Vaulks and Patto speaks volumes about Citys dismal managerial and player recruitment over the last several years.
Watching this it's clear that something is fundamentally wrong in the squad. The players look like they've never met and are slow and lethargic in everything they do. Something has to change quickly otherwise we're in big trouble.
