Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
We all know how reliable Twitter is but lots of smoke on it being Alexandersson, apparently was in Cardiff last week even before Bulut got the chop.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see it and then Tan hires a bigger name for Kortrijk after the weirdness with Simic.

Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
I know that we haven't got a chance, but I'd love to see Brian Barry-Murphy join us, with Rambo becoming a 'player'/coach.

Well, he doesn't rate Simic so that bodes well :hehe:

I genuinely don't get the clamour for Barry-Murphy at all. He did a good job with the best kids in the country playing games of football that doesn't matter. Sign him up?!

If we're naming managers we haven't got a chance of getting, then I'm saying Klopp. He's available as well.

Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
It's not going to be anyone who we have to pay to release from one existing contract. It's far more likely to be someone that is either out of work at the moment, or who already works for Tan. So Riza and Alexandersson both have to be WAY out in front of anyone else, when it comes to odds.
Riza 1/5
Alexanderson 1/4
Hughes (please God let him be too expensive) 4/1
Page (only because they know who he is, but no thanks) 5/1
Everyone else (they don't know anybody else) 10/1

Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
Something worth considering is that Vinny seemingly has a bit of a penchant for Welsh managers and has previously expressed a preference for more Welsh/academy players in the team (See: Trollope, Morison) as well as younger managers (Harris). Bulut, Warnock, McCarthy seem to be more in line with Dalman's preferences
-
Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
[QUOTE=Hilts;5543101]A really poor list. Hopefully not the reality.
Riza has been part of this horrendous start. He shouldn't be considered.
If Riza really has been the club's 'attacking coach' for this season he should submit his resignation, not an application for the manager's job.

Hopefully made up rumours from here in the north west are that Robbie Savage might be in the frame

This is the least exciting this has ever been.

I think you're right, there. Dalman was front and centre with Mick, Bulut and Warnock.

I would be fairly happy with a boring but safe appointment given our track record

I think the club should splash the cash and get Brendan Rodgers down from Celtic. Any allegiance he had to Swansea has surely gone by now.

I think that's a good shout
Celtic are not in our league
Literally

Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
I think if you fancy City to get a decent points total in the next 5 then Riza is the bet.
Personally I think we needed a clean break from all Buluts coaching staff and things won't go well.
I've literally no idea what they will do.

Get the senior players and existing coaching staff together and devise a plan, he'll probably get closer to 100% as everyone has something to prove to the fans and the next Manager.
Agreed God knows what that will look like in the form of structure or the selections!

Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
Online Fan polls in order
Nathan Jones
Ryan Giggs
Stephan Schumacher
I'd go along with those three too.

Chris Wathan on twitter:
"Cardiff hierarchy fans of Alexandersson, and did consider him, but thinking seems to be that now is not time. Club working through shortlist. Plenty of interest but, as it stands, in no rush. Riza could hold fort until int break"

Neither do Tan, Dalman or Choo.

So, they’re going to take a few weeks to make the wrong decision rather make one straight away :hehe:

It's understood CEO Ken Choo is likely to take the lead on this latest search, with Mehmet Dalman likely to take more of a supporting role having played a big part in the appointment of Bulut. Tan, however, will still have the final say on what happens next.
The current plan, it is understood, is for Omer Riza to lead the side until the next international break while the club take stock, assess their options, review the applications and draw up a shortlist. Winless Cardiff have Hull City, Millwall and Bristol City before the next international break.
But should Riza turn Cardiff's fortunes around over the next few weeks, the prospect of him taking the job until at least the end of the season cannot be ruled out.
One thing's for sure, it could take some time before we receive any real clarity.

Not Mark Hughes then, according to that.

Pah! It would be too easy to reel in Rodgers or Potter. Let's push the boat out and go for Roberto " he's justa gay Spanish waiter" Martinez, and show the footballing world that we really mean business :hehe:

I think you do know what they will do. They are giving it to riza if he can get those 7 points in the 5 games.

Highly-rated Championship boss speaks out amid Cardiff City job links.
Highly-rated head coach Des Buckingham has admitted there have been approaches for his services after achieving promotion with Oxford United, amid reports he is on Cardiff City's radar.
The Bluebirds are once again looking for a new manager following the sacking of Erol Bulut at the weekend amid a winless run which sees Cardiff bottom of the league after six games.
Amid links to Cardiff, when asked on a BBC podcast whether he thought he would still be Oxford boss at the end of the campaign, he replied: “I don’t think that’s sometimes in my hands. I think I’m sitting just under the top third of managers still in their jobs when I was appointed last November, which shows how volatile this career path can be.

We are fecked.
He gets 7 points he will get it. Can he then get us to around 50. Very doubtful I'd say.
I'd be very suprised if he gets 2 wins though and a good chance he won't get any leaving us well behind at the bottom.
The clowns running the club never learn.
We need someone new now to give us a fighting chance.

He could get really lucky, I don't think we can be as bad as it looks so far, a few tweaks and score first and think things could change quickly, we will have a better idea of the squad in three weeks time.
-
Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?
He'll pick up some points purely out of some level of variance. Something will go in at some point
Its the trap we've fallen for time and again
