This is a professional football club. It needs to start acting like one. It desperately needs a proper managerial and coaching set-up, not all this romantic Ramsey bollocks.

Ramsey’s signing had been an expensive disaster. Time to say thanks and goodbye, and get on with putting a proper structure in place.

Neutral on Ramsey, he clearly has the heart and a decent head on his shoulders compared to most former-players, but I don't know if he's the guy I'd bring in straight away. We need experience, and honestly, Ramsey needs someone to shadow that's more than Omar Riza. I think we need experience more than anything else.

My reply was to CWL who wanted someone with experience. Plenty of coaches have tried a managerial role and have floundered. One of our most experienced recent managers took us on a record run of defeats and played five centre-backs. Any appointment wouldn't be perfect. It's a fair point about Ramsey and it's likely not his time. Maybe we've been starved of managers who sound relatively intelligent and thus easily swayed.

Bear with me on this, and this is a bold tactic, how about we appoint a manager who's actually achieved something recently in the game rather than our track record of has beens and chancers?

Davies had been assistant manager to Brendan Rogers at Celtic and Leicester. McKenna was assistant to Jose Mourinho at Man Utd. Any comparison with Ramsey is frankly ridiculous.

Rosenior has just today signed a renewed contract with Strasbourg. Why the hell would he swap that to work in league 1 and for this circus?

And as for asking the club to be forward thinking. That’s like asking Stevie Wonder to read the small print on a pay day loan contract.

People saying that we shouldn’t consider Ramsey, because we should be looking to get in an experienced coach… etc.

I don’t disagree, but let’s be honest. That isn’t the choice here. All recent experience tells us that

What we should be thinking is whether we should back Ramsey, or some random further down the pecking order who is already at the club. Or someone from Costco. Whatever is the cheapest

Best you watch the video. He’s nowhere near pleading for it. Quite the opposite.

For the last 15 games or so the recurring theme regarding Riza's management was his lack of experience in such a role and how it will eventually cost us, which it did.

Just because we have a player on our books who's had a stellar playing career, why should we trust his coaching/managerial skills any more than Riza's. Neither have the necessary experience needed to manage a football club.The problem is than Tan may feel the same as many do on this board and give Ramsey the job regardless. Some people never learn from their mistakes.

Ramsey actually cares, that's worth more than a shitty manager who doesn't care.

To get the sort of manager I talked about in my first sentence, Tan would have to radically change his approach to selecting them. That seems unlikely to me and that’s why I’m sure he’d see Ramsey as a great appointment - he probably wouldn’t cost him more than he does now and would probably deflect a degree of criticism from him, whereas if Ramsey leaves, our owner will be blamed and the criticism of him will only get worse.

You appear to have missed the bit where I said “if it was up to me”
I would have a vision and a strategy to get back to the Championship asap, and then a serious go at getting back to the Premier league, and a guy like Rosenior, or similar would be a big part of that plan.
You seem to be happy with Ramsey getting the gig, which shows you to be similar to Tan in forward thinking 😂

Whilst I'd be glad to see a real manager come in part of me would be a bit annoyed after appointing morison hudson and riza.

So now we have been relegated if they do learn and actually appoint someone I wont know what to say. They've had so many warnings before but ignored them all.

In all likelihood its either ramsey or purse or one of the academy coaches so ramsey is the best of that bunch as I think he'll be able to bring in real coaches.

Plus if he wants to concentrate on playing that may not be a bad thing and he can just appoint good people around him.

A number of things amaze me about fans backing the notion that Ramsey should be given the job:

1) His would be exactly the sort of appointment that has failed in the very recent past.

2) He has even less coaching or management experience than the likes of Morison, Hudson and Riza.

3) His positive influence as a player and captain this season has been practically zero.

4) With one game to go, the team has won a grand total of zero Championship matches this season with Ramsey as a player, captain or manager (or whatever they're describing him as currently).

This relegation has to be a big wake-up call to everyone involved in the club, including the supporters, and yet we have fans who are calling for Aaron Ramsey to be installed as manager for no reason other than the fact that he's played at the top level and he's 'one of our own'. Would you have been against kompany being appointed? I guess so?

Clearly it depends the people they get around them. Kompany got a brilliant team around him. Ramsey would try also. He's not going to settle for a coaching staff that has tom ramasut as one of the main coaches on it is he?

Ramsey in isolation will fail but with a root and branch reform of all coaches going and his new ones coming in that's more interesting to me than a failed league 1 manager with experience.

If there's another Vincent Kompany out there, go get him. But I've never seen anything in Aaron Ramsey to remotely suggest he could be management material without having first had a number of years of experience in coaching and backroom roles.

Kompany is a born leader. That much was obvious when he was a player. Can you say that about Ramsey?

I wouldn't rule out anyone young old experience inexperience or whatever. Just want someone good.

To automatically rule anyone out on something like not having league 1 experience, or not being a coach at a top club, or any criteria is madness.

Appreciate you haven't done that though.

Anderlecht finished 8th in Kompany's first season.

Go and get someone who is a proven manager. It has to be done. Ramsey can learn, maybe he is a manager, I don't know but asking him to do it now is unfair on him, and us. We need a total rebuild.

You cant compare people on that basis. And i'll give you an example. mike tyson 19. Up against an experienced 30 fight pro boxer.
Ramsey has the pashun and will learn quickly. The alternative is the run of the mill list of trainers we roll out every time we need a manager and we end up with shite.
