I’ve never known such an overrated player as Turnbull, fans on twitter talk about him like he scores screamers every other week and how he’s due to put one in the top corner.
In reality his only goal came from the rebound of a penalty he missed. Hes defensively poor, he has no assists, he’s slow and can’t press.

Andreas Cornelius, not looked through the Fred, but if he isn't included he should be.

He certainly made an impression on me :hehe:

Isaac Vassell, must have cost a fortune in medical bills and painkillers.
-
Re: Players who make/made no impression.
What's the criteria for this? Some players were probably victims of circumstance. For instance, Andy Thompson, played a couple of games, got ligament damage and was out for the season. Michael Simpkins on the other hand - here for a while and...[shrug].
Also, Jermaine Darlington, but we were a bit desperate and trying to get a squad together.

Who was that defender who came from Derby I think.
He was injured a lot before he came to us, managed about 20 minutes for us before getting injured and was never seen again, went to an Israeli club I think.
It's come back to me while I was typing. Dekel Keinan
Edit
I'm confusing two different players, it wasn't Keinan

Kieran Richardson . One of the four out of contract players Warnock brought in to steady the ship. Him and Chamakh didn't make much impression unlike Bamba and Hoilett who became club legends.

No he didn’t. He was absolutely useless and hence shouldn’t be on this list.
This is a list of non-descriptive players who didn’t do anything whilst at the club: Madine was proactively terrible (see the comical penalty miss against Wolves for example)

I agree 100%. It is just bizarre.
People post things on Twitter about him like ‘it you can’t see it, you don’t understand’
Weird.

Re: Players who make/made no impression.
This thread seemed to go off topic very quickly, with people naming random players who made very few appearances for City as opposed to those who, like Turnbull, have played plenty of games for the club but made no impression.
I’d like to nominate Ryan Wintle - a man who has made 110 Championship appearances for Cardiff City, many of which I’ve seen first hand, but I still have no idea what his strengths are supposed to be or what he’s supposed to bring to the side.

Naturally, I went on the Celtic forum as soon as we had signed him, just to gauge the opinion amongst their fans.
My goodness, they were unanimous in their condemnation of the player, nothing good to say about him whatsoever.
Turnbull is one-paced, no vision, negative, and doesn't see tackling as a part of his game. Apart from that... he's not too bad.

If Ryan Wintle could be a colour, he'd be grey... pale grey.
But according to some, he does a lot of the 'unseen work'. Yeah. :hehe:

Re: Players who make/made no impression.
Has anyone mentioned how anonymous Wilf Zaha was when here?
-
Re: Players who make/made no impression.
Bit of a random one ryan allsop.
Played a full season and I can't remember many huge mistakes. Can't remember him saving many shots either. Kicking wasn't terrible but wasn't very good.
Hard for a keeper to get into this category but I'm thinking him.

To be fair, I thought that had more to do with Ole’s tactical nouse of playing Le Fondre wide on the left, while utilising Craig Noone as the “fox in the box”.

LeFondre was only 28 when he signed for us, hardly an age where you think a player has gone over the top, but, apart from when he was with Sydney FC, his goal scoring record from when he signed for us onwards was not a patch on what came before . Maybe he lost the hunger he once had after signing for those mega payers Cardiff City.

what is it about signing strikers from Reading?

Re: Players who make/made no impression.
I keep forgetting Jonny Williams played for us, he did so little when he was here.

One of these not like the others in my opinion, Stoker was a very useful combative lower leagues midfielder and quite memorable for me at the time. The other three are great answers.

I'm sure David Greene knocked in a couple of own goals while he was with us.

£6 million wasn’t it? The notion that he won a couple of headers so that huge outlay was justified in some way is for the birds. Madine was a complete waste of money, but I don’t think he made no impression with City because there was always the penalty miss against Wolves.

But we did get up. He also had the balls to take that pen, as Hoilett didn't want it and was the nominated taker. He was crap for us but we've had some absolute donkeys here that didn't take us up.

There was a game at Hull we lost 2-0, one was by Greene, think the other one was by Danny Gabbidon.
We were the highest scorers out of the 92 in 00/01, but if you added in all of the own goals we scored as well, we would have got about 120.
A player who scored two own goals that season doesn’t qualify for this question I reckon - Andy Jordan definitely made an impression while he was here.

We didn’t go up because of Madine and I reckon we’d have been promoted anyway if we hadn’t signed him. Using your logic, Frederic Gounongbe and Ibrahim Meite were justified signings because they played some league football for us in our promotion season.
