For fairness it should be a Sheffield United Sunderland final.

Both teams have been in the top 4 all season and nobody has got near. Bristol city and Coventry are way off them both over the season.

Leeds and Burnley clearly the 2 best teams. Then Sheffield United and Sunderland. How it should be.

I agree, although I would hate for the format we see now get scrapped in favour of a third and fourth play off. The football authorities mess plenty up, but the play offs are brilliant.

I agree. So much so that it amazes me it isn't replicated elsewhere. I'm not aware of the same format (3rd v 6th, 4th v 5th with a final in a big neutral stadium) being used anywhere else and yet it so clearly works

Yeah normally I'd totally agree. And also Sheffield United and Sunderland both failed to get top 2 so they can't really complain.

Just this year the top 3 then top 4 have been so far clear.

Lumps of terrace concrete flying everywhere, I miss the good old days.

A lot of leagues play that relegation, promotion play off but to me it just favours the higher league club even if they are used to losing.

I love the drama of our version over here. Just works well and generally keeps more teams interested into April/May.
