“Dynamic pricing”, my arse.
Wouldn’t cross the road to watch them after that.

In your opinion, for some, like me, they are the sound of my youth and I’ve paid over the odds to get a ticket.
I’ll look back in 20 years on the enjoyable experience I had. No doubt you’ll look back with misery and regret.
Someone have a different music taste than you? Impossible that!

Hands up for me Bill.
In my defence, the wife took the decision due to my 12 year old.
Those two enjoyed it.
As for 'mug punters', fuuck me the amount of adidas x oasis stuff on display was frightening. Kids doing so I can do, 50 year old men doing so need to be put on some kind of register somewhere.

Ignore Bill anyway. People are only allowed to moan about things he doesn’t like on here. God forbid you moan about Vincent Tan on a CCFC message board but moaning about Oasis is fair game.
Definitely Maybe was released 3 days after my 18th birthday. As you say, it was sound of our youth and generation, and generations to come judging by the new younger fans still listening to them. Wasn’t too gutted I missed out on tickets initially, rather the new generation of fans have their chance to see them, but after seeing some of the videos of last night and the set list I am absolutely****ing gutted. Looked quite the occasion and the photo taking from behind of them walking out together is going to be iconic.
Hope you have a great day 👍🏻

You'll love it butt.
Plenty of singing, swaying and nostalgia there last night.
Wasn't for me but I'm a miserable cuunt.

You seem to be trying to justify getting scammed by a couple of Mancs.
Like an OAP who hands over a wedge to a Nigerian phone caller.

Oasis were decent enough. A typical Oasis performance really, sounded ropey in parts but nobody cares as they're there for a singalong, bit like a karaoke in the Live Lounge. I'll be interested if Liam Gallaghers voice can do 40 more gigs mind.
My lad loved it, so it's points in the bag for me.

Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
I was a big fan of the first two albums but lost interest after that. I had never seen them live before last night. I don't normally do stadium gigs and have never seen one in the principality. So paying over £100 for a ticket hurt!
I thought it was superb, bloody loved it! If i had payed £300 it would have been worth it in my opinion.

I am a man that’s paid good money for an experience I’m going to remember until the day I die. I’ll probably get more entertainment in the one and a half hours they’re on stage than I did the whole of last season watching Cardiff

I do my running in Bute Park, went down there the evening Slayer were playing, very close to where i live. Couldn't get through to Blackweir so had to cross the footbridge over the Taff into Pontcanna. For a half mile stretch of the river i could here them clearly, so i was doubling back on myself for about an hour. I was ****ed, but i can say that i heard Slayer live while getting a workout, and because i'm tighter than cramp it didn't cost me a penny, Rounded off with a visit to Aldi western Avenue for a load of 30% off items. I know how to live...... :hehe:

Take a tape recorder and mic next time and you can do bootleg copies, do they still exist?
Last night at approximately 4:45pm on Westgate Street there was an irate female (rather podgy) lycra clad cyclist who was having an apoplexy as she couldn't get through the crowds.
It was a sight to behold to watch her having a hissy fit. In fairness the crowd were a rather sedate lot and looked at her bemused. She was lead away by the Police.
She must've been local? What the fuuck was she thinking about?

Attending a paupers funeral would be more entertainment than last season down the City 😁

I don't want to get the Daily Mail readers frothing, but some cyclists are *****, especially the ones in 'Full kit' I prefer the scallies with an Uber bag on their back and a face covering, they do so much more for the local economy.....

Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
Not my cup of tea and in my opinion the whole narrative (or what we now call 'vibe') of 'britpop' was one of the worst things to happen to British music. Britpop dominated the music industry and media at the expense of better musicians, in particular black and female artists. IMO it was quite a flag waving, shallow misogynistic time.
However, if you like or liked Oasis and got a ticket, good luck... What a moment in history and from all reports I've read it sounds like they were very good, if that's what you're into, wonderful. Also, it's brilliant for the city and quite an occasion.
I won't knock people for going, and you never know, Bucks Fizz may also reunite and make a come back, intellectually and musically dwarfing Oasis.. Now that would be a gig for the ages.

But news wise it’s pretty big and I think that they are more important now than they were then.
A few Mates watched them in TJ’s, Newport around 95. I saw them in Cardiff at the Ice Rink around March 1996.
Anyone there at that gig, anyone see them elsewhere in their early day and anybody going tomorrow?
The March 1996 dates were in the CIA, the first night support was Heavy Stereo (Gem Archer's band) and the second night were the Manics. This was my first ever gig, aged 14. The Manics were great (first Welsh show after Richie vanished, and only the second since that sad event) but Oasis, despite me being a massive fan, were a little underwhelming.
Fast forward to 2005 and I saw them again at the Millennium Stadium as part of Noise and Confusion - they rattled through a shoddy 90-minute set which saw most people leave during their encore. Foo Fighters were on just before and basically upstaged them with a solid stadium rock show.
Last night they were unbelievable LOL, genuinely night and day from what went before. Couldn't have hoped for a better two hours. That was gig 115 for me and up there with the best - just an awesome set, stage set-up, setlist and crowd. Only 3 songs from after 1995 tell their own story!

They're only doing the same as David Beckham, Gary Barlow, Michael Caine etc.
Or do you have to receive a honour from the Royals before you can start avoiding tax?

My neighbours son got 2 tickets for £40 each an hour before the show last night.
From one of these legitimate late sell on sites

Probably the first time they’ve ever played not off their trumps…..sounded decent

Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
Whilst never a fan back then, although I've been out lately to see a few oasis tribute bands and enjoyed them, I think there is a public now fed up of manufactured and packaged music and would like to just go out and see instruments being played, singers singing and not miming, hopefully it's a start of the guitar music comeback, my lad has never been so busy giggling, he's not long finished his 1st of 3 gigs today.
-
Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
I went to the CIA gig back in 96, despite thinking Morning Glory not being as good as their first album. I lost all interest by the time their third album came out and would have absolutely no interest in seeing them this time round even if the ticket prices were cheap. But fair play to those choosing to spend their hard earned dosh on experiences that would interest them.
I go to fair amount of gigs still. Horsegirl in Bristol Theckla a couple of weeks ago was very good. Really looking forward to seeing Bodega in a couple of weeks at Bristol Trinity.

Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff

That may well be over the top and of course they aren’t everyone’s cup of darjeeling, that being said Cardiff and Wales is painted in a great light and I really can’t see any other show that they do having the impact of last night.
People on Twitter banging on what a great place Cardiff is helped my 4th of July hangover today :)
I’m going to try and catch them in NYC I think.
