If O’Dowda leaves, the only players left at the club this season where we have to include their salaries for financial fair play (due to when they signed their current contracts) are:
Callum Robinson
Kion Etete
Sekou Kaba
Yousef Salech
I think the salaries of recent signings Mathew Apter and Charlie O’Brien will also now be included as, although both are currently under 21, they’ve not been part of the youth set up at Cardiff for 3+ years.
I think we’re OK this season regards financial rules.

Callum O'Dowda has completed a permanent transfer to Hungarian side Ferencváros TC for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
We’d like to thank Callum for his efforts over the past three seasons and wish him the best of luck for the future.
Signed by Robbie Keane.
This is nothing personal about COD, more a personal observation of mine.
I have said it before on here, I believe our steady decline began when we started picking up Bristol City’s best players.
It seems the new measure of how far we have come in such a small amount of time, is when our fans are saying how sad to it would be to see him go.
Again, nothing against COD, as he seemed to give his best. Good luck to him.
This is what happens, you lose some players that you actually want to keep, replace them with seasoned league 1 vets or youth players, in a couple of seasons if we haven't gone up we are just an average league 1 team.
I wanted to keep players like him and Robinson on as on their day they actually can play at a higher level. O'Dowda maybe one of the more expendable for me though, i'll never be convinced he's a left back, needed to be played as a wing back to at least have the space to move forward into without being too concerned defensively.
At league 1 level he would have coped fine and as such it's a shame to see him move on.
Sorry to see him go but not too concerned.
Aside from his injuries I was never sure that we were getting the best from him playing at full back or as a winger. He’d become a hybrid.
He always tried hard and that was even more obvious when he wore the captains armband.
Good luck to him.
Think he was our most consistent and workmanlike player last season, and probably our best until Salech showed up, as much as that's damning with faint praise. Unless we've got some signings coming through that door, I'm not sure how this can really be spun as a positive.
I wonder if he got a release clause put in when he signed the new contract in January
He always gave his all, no one can argue with that. Felt he was wasted as a defender as he couldn’t defend and was never far enough forward to make an impact, where his strength is.
