Yeah, but I’m an attacking winger man. Taking players on and whipping crosses into Yousef. Maybe that’s not the modern way of doing things.

Great ball by Eli King and smooth finish.
-
Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Beautiful ball by King over the top.
Salech cool as you like.
0-1

Composed after not having many touches first half. Perfect striking play.

King is looking classy. Almost, well, regal

Does Robertson not want to do 90 mins today or something? Begging for a red.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I have some reasonable optimism for this season. If we make signings in the right place, we could go right back up.
Let's not forget that on paper, our squad looked at minimum mid-table last season in the Championship, it just fell apart because of morale, attitude and a lack of quality in terms of player choices (and Riza being out of his depth). I think we've trimmed a lot of the fat, kept the majority of the quality players and could be serious contenders for champions.
Some might not like we're playing League 2 teams mostly, but it's a good way to build back up the confidence lost over last season.
BBM been a very pleasant surprise so far. Obviously, what matters is the season itself, but the pre-season is giving me some optimism.

Good start to the season is vital.

Agreed. If we can get to Luton undefeated, I'll be happy and definitely fancy our chances. Luton will be tough, and I think Bolton and Reading look solid this season. Everyone is sleeping on Reading if you ask me. Stockport looking to prove themselves as well, they were side-by-side pretty much with Wrexham the past few seasons.
Peterborough home is a good starting fixture, Posh are an above-average League One team imo, so it will be a good challenge.

He’s looking frustrated and it all seems self-inflicted.
Take him off before the second half I reckon. It’s pointless getting a red card and ruining the rest of the game.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I do like the movement of the players more than anything and it's nice to see us get crosses into the box. King has been very good, along with the fullbacks. Robertson has been average, giving away far too many fowls. Who plays on the wing next weekend is still open. Ashford standing out more than Willock for me in the first half.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
BBM has been selecting the King, Joel Colwill and Robertson midfield together in all games as opposed to the Wintle, Turnbull and Rubin Colwill one that started on Wednesday and it’s clear we’ve looked a side with much more to offer in arrack with the latter trio. It was the same again in the first half today despite Eli King being maybe our best player - we’ve been solid enough, but the fluency isn’t there. That said, I think the youngsters in general are showing they’re good enough to be trusted in League One. Good finish by Salech, now it’ll be interesting to see if there’ll be any half time changes.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Cracking goal by County.
Could do with upping the intensity
-
Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Impressive finish for the equaliser

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Great goal. I was hoping this would get me enthused about next week and the season ahead. It’s safe to say it’s not.
-
Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Good goal, but Alnwick just seemed to watch it go in.
-
Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Robertson needs subbing off before he’s sent off. Not showing the attitude I’d want to be seeing we’re I BBM
-
Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Robertson been very poor for me so far, not sure if it's fitness or not, but been sloppy on the ball and given too many pointless fouls away. If it was a league game he would have been off by now.

I don't think he was getting anywhere near it in fairness.
Robertson has been an embarrassment today, a less lenient ref would have had him long gone by now.
Ashford too neat and lightweight for me.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I want Robertson to work out, but if his heart isn't in it because of the manager, we might as well sell him. Maybe Portsmouth can have him back.

what was the final score as this match wasn't even on Livescore

do you think that that's perhaps a slight overreaction to a below par performance in a friendly

He’s not looked a happy bunny to me in any of our warm up games.

It’s not just today though, he’s looked poor (performance and attitude wise) for a while.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
That’s a naughty challenge on Robertson, studs up and gouged a chunk out of his calf.

Looked quite a deep cut on the side of his calf. I’d be surprised if he hasn’t already got stitches in it. Deffo won’t be in the match day squad next week. Wouldn’t have started though let’s be honest.

Is the ref a premier league one? Recognise him.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Think this game really sums up Willock. He's got technical ability but just slows everything down when in attack.

He’s awful, offers nothing in my opinion.

Just so ineffective.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Another 2-2. From what I could see first half decent, not quite level at qpr but did enough. Second half Notts much improved and caused us problems.

I would lump on us in an accie for both teams to score. From what I’ve seen preseason we’re going to create chances and give plenty to the opposition too!

Hate to see Isaak forced off again.

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Very worried about our defence and the team as a whole to stand up to tge physicality of Div1.
We definitely need a right back and centre back.
Midfield should be ok, but what has happened to Robertson? Gone back a mile from when he came to us.
Up top looking ok, but Willock promises a lot but delivers little and Ashford bit too lightweight for me.
Think the team will be a lot different come end of window.

Not sure what Willock even promises, stealing a living.

What do you mean different? We aren't buying any players .

Why do you think the team will be a lot different. We've had the whole summer to improve this weak squad and done absolutely nothing.
We desperately need a takeover even if it just results in consolidation this season.
Hopefully Bale and co haven't gone away.

I think we are desperate for a sweeper-keeper under Barry-Murphy’s philosophy.
We are so exposed against decent through-balls or hopeful balls over the top. We need somebody that’s wired and can get to the edge of the area immediately to clear any danger.
Somebody with higher levels of reflexes and agility. To be fair, this Nathan Trott guy we seem interested in could be our ‘Bermudan Barthez’. His style of play seems focused on these attributes. Somebody like that saves Notts County’s first goal today IMO.
