Wigan been well on top during the end of the first half.

Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Played some really nice stuff but all Wigan last 10-15 minutes. This forward three is incredibly lightweight for League 1 and we are really struggling keeping the ball during this poor spell.

Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Get the next and kill the game off.

Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Some great approach play but final ball or touch has let us down and for all our possession, Wigan have perhaps had the better opportunities. Wigan look dangerous when they get the ball wide and I suspect we're going to need another goal.

Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I think that RC is one of our better players in the squad but having a bit of a mare so far, I wish he would just do simple on times, wants to flick or beat a player at every touch, now I've had a sulk at him I hope he scores a screamer in the 2nd half 😁

You mean other than the pass that created the goal, two through balls for Ashford he should have done far more with and generally being the player that all our attacking play goes through?
He’s had some dodgy touches and dribbled into trouble a few times but that comes with the role he’s playing. Been our most important player as he has been most of the season.

I wouldn't say he's having a mare, a few things just haven't fallen right for him.

Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
All the possession again but too slow in build up.
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
This game should have been put to bed with the amount of possession we have had.

Wow, Callum McManaman. That's a blast from the past.

Total control for 80 minutes

Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Dullsville. But convincing and job done. no complaints from me.
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I'll take it. Arguably should have been more, but I'm not going to turn my nose at a 2-0 dominant performance.
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
did Wigan even want to equalise?
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
who played the ball into Salech for the pen?
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Controlled it from start to finish. Only grumble it took until injury time to put it to bed but never looked in danger.
Bluebirds! Bluebirds!

I'll take 3 points in a dullsville match week in week out
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Get in city, comfortable win, clean sheet, 3 points and Salech amongst the goals.
On to Tuesday
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
3 points and no serios injuries, with the matches coming up is so important.
-
Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Good move resulting in the penalty.
I’m impressed with how Osho brings the ball out from defense.

Yeah this.
We controlled so much of that game that we didn’t really need to up the tempo. Conserved a lot of energy for the three upcoming home games.
Only just realised we don’t play away until 25th October!!

Re: WIGAN ATHLETIC v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Great result totally controlled the game.
I don't think I've ever seen an away game for City where we were so dominant. Our 1 flaw is that we are not converting our possession to goals.

I mentioned this the other day, with Fish & Lawlor at the back I wonder if we’ll see him playing, say 10/15 yards ahead of them, one of his bursts then arriving on the edge of their box, could be interesting.

Despite early season fears our bench does look quite reasonable. Barry-Murphy seems to have added 50+% to some players somehow.
