Don't mind if we lose this... We've had a good cup run in the league cup.
Concentrate on 2026 getting promoted.

Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I just saw the goal. Shocking defending. Fish just watched the ball go past him.

I'll be disappointed if we don't get to the 3rd round.

Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Just had a look at the BBC "report"
Shows the score; Stats all zero (possession, shots, etc).
Live text :-
Kick off
Goal
1 min added time
HT
Lots of interest there!!

The BBC match live text only kicked in with the goal - up to that point it was frozen at 2'.
At least there weren't any spelling mistakes! :hehe:

Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Probably a blessing in disguise if we lose this. We miss out on a little bit of money, but it allows us to focus on the league, Carabao and Vertu. We'll be spread horribly thin with fixture congestion come December otherwise.
-
Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We have no depth in this team so this is for the best. ahhh well!
-
Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Nayakuwa's on now. We can't lose.

January's all about getting good reinforcements. Tan should back BBM, he's done well with this thin squad.

Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Not the end of the world. We're in the quarter finals of another tournament as a League One team, I'll take a first round FA Cup exit to play Chelsea at home. That's at least one less game to play in a stacked November/December period.
-
Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Oh well. Two cup runs in one season would be greedy anyway.
With Huddersfield also being knocked out you'd have to presume our postponed game against them will now be played on the 6th of December the weekend of the second round.

Left back, winger, centre mid and striker all needed.
-
Re: PETERBOROUGH UTD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
honestly couldn't care less about going out, this squad would be spread so thinly trying to battle on all fronts, let's concentrate on getting out of this league, who wants to play Arsenal's U21's next season..
🙄

Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Never mind. Hopefully see a Wrexham performance next week against Blackpool rather than this Peterborough one.
-
Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I didn't want us to equalise as I thought we could do without another fixture. Hadn't realised it would've gone to extra time and pelanties today 🙄
-
Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Not overly bothered by this loss.
-
Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
In the same week - our best League Cup run since we reached the final and our worst FA Cup "run" since we reached the final.
-
Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Didn't fancy a summer trip to Wembley anyway.

Five of the top six in League 1 lost in the cup today.
Leaders Stockport were the only winners. Wimbledon went out to non league Gateshead. Bradford, Lincoln and Stevenage knocked out by League 2 oppostion.
Cardiff lost to the side on the bottom of League 1

Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Glad we are out.
What kind of twisted fools want to see their club win a cup match and have to potentially see them play another match. Particularly when we already completed it in 1927.

Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The last 3 away games the team travelled over a thousand miles which took over 20 hours, when you factor in game time it's been a tough week.

It’s literally their job, and they have a fair few to job share with at that.

Not many teams play 3 away games in a week, there were 2 others today both lost.

A lot of them played all 3
Yes its their job, but I reckon its possible they were a little tired after 3 games in a week

602 of us turned up for this one.
First 20 mins Boro were on top, with a few half chances.
We dominated until they scored.
CR should have scored from distance when their GK miskicked,..but he fluffed his lines.
Second half I felt we were going to equalise, but the usual problem of not producing the last ball surfaced.
Ashford played well on the left, but with no one to cross to, it became futile.
After the usual 60th minute changes, we never looked like scoring.
We've lost 1 0 to Burton..Newport..and Peterborough...all bottom of the league at the time of playing.
On a plus side, we witnessed a Turnbull pass that went forward....Murphy probably bollocked him for that.

Re: FT: PETERBOROUGH UTD 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
There's a real paucity of any statistics about this game, on any of the sites I usually go on. Even basic things like the number of shots each side had doesn't seem to be anywhere.
Even the vertu trophy games had more coverage than this. I wonder why it is.

I mean I was thinking more along the lines of a rights issue, or that there are too many games in this round at grounds without the correct facilities to gather the opta data or equivalent, but yeah I'll go with a conspiracy, can it be something to do with the magnetic poles?

Thanks for the brief summary, as others have said there’s been so little coverage / comment on the game. That is a weird stat that we’ve lost 1-0 3 times this season to teams bottom of the league at that time!

Mistake number 1, you're talking sense and using logic, initially... I was thinking it could be something to do with Prince Andrew and the New World Order, I reckon I can make it spin and there would be a fair few on here who would go with it. What's not to like?
