My mistake - I forgot the Morcambe loan came in the first half of last season. I still think he should be kept and used this season.

So we now have 7 Central defenders on the books
Erol I think we’re covered there, can you look at the other positions that we are desperate to fill, like a winger and a forward who can score goals on Sunday please

I would absolutely be up for us keeping him, but only if he was going to get games.
if he's playing regularly in league one then at least he can improve there and come back stronger, it would be on him to take that opportunity though.

Andy Rinomhota to stay. 'A fighter' according to Bulut and it seems a versatile squad player. He played right back in pre-season?

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Bulut confirmed he wants Fagan-Walcott, Raheem Conte and Kieron Evans out on loan. He seems surprising positive about Evans!
Cian Ashford not mentioned in relation to possible loan move. Is he staying with the first team squad?
He also expects Ryan Wintle to move on - but says the ball is with him and his agent (there have been offers).
Nothing in the press conference about a move for Mahlon Romeo or about the fitness (or not) of Ryotaro Tsunoda.

Bulut is baffling. He gave Rinomhota one Championship start and two sub appearances last season before sending him to Rotherham. Now he wants to keep him.

He may be a fighter but how does he fit into our new possession based strategy? He's never been that good on the ball. I know some think fans are looking for anything to complain about but it's things like this that don't make a lot of sense (at least to me).
Evans possibly to Newport? So next year he'll need another contract and another loan to a L1 club (if he does well)?

Eli King didn't want another loan - per Bulut he had 'another idea' and wanted to fight for his place at Cardiff. But now he has made the move let's hope he comes back improved again and more aggressive!

I suspect a large part of this decision is that we were unlikely to see much of either this season, same with Joel Colwill. If we are going to have a bit part player it makes sense for that person to be Rinomota, with the hope the other 2 go and develop and can properly challenge next year. Ralls and Ramsey (if he extends) will be yet another year older.

rangers was totally the wrong move for him

Disagree. Great experience for the lad. At 22 and 23 years old he’s played nearly 60 games including European competition for a massive club with huge expectations. Regardless of what you think of the SPL it’s pressure and scrutiny every week playing for a club like that. He’s also made a decent amount of money already in his career I assume.
Meanwhile our 21/22/23 year olds, one of whom is an ex Cardiff team mate of Mattondo and who we’ve bizarrely given a two year deal to, are being sent out on loans to the likes of Stevenage, Cheltenham and Newport to get experience.

Yeah fair points, and 6 goals and 10 assists for Rangers in 60 games is actually better than I thought he had done.
I just think at the right club he could do even better

Staying at Cardiff wasn't really a better option.
He's done better club hopping as he's not very good.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
This Freds been quiet for a few days so I’ll add a couple into it.
Ryan Wintle being looked at by Millwall
& City back looking at Ali Al-Hamadi on loan from Ipswich, we lost out to them in January.

It's the calm before the storm Des, I'd be trying to sign Al-Hamadi rather than loan him, can't see him getting much game time at Ipswich now.

I'm a touch concerned we don't seem to be looking at a left back, I like O'Dowda and he's done well in a position that isn't his own but there were times on Sunday where it was apparent that he isn't a defender and I wouldn't be confident going into a season with him & Collins as our left back options

To be fair, we also have Bagan, Tsunoda (when fit) and a couple of decent youngsters (Tom Davies and Luey Giles) who can cover LB. Good mix of attack and defensive minded players.
On the right, we have Ng, Chambers(?), Fish(?), and Kpakio, assuming Romeo is not in the picture. Other than Kpakio, I don't think we have a particularly attacking option there.

And vice versa. He has been a flash in the pan , as he has been his whole career .
Suddenly he starts to look a bit like a footballer this season , a big bit I may add and we have to off load his wages . If he continues in the same vain he has started the season he will be a major asset wherever he ends up. Good for Wales also.
Whilst we are on Rangers I am surprised no one has snapped up Cantwell . He wants away from Rangers , doesn't like Scotland apparently, a bit of a dick on social media but a top footballer , in a similar mold to our own Mr Colwill. Fantastic skill, game changing passing ability

there were Rangers fans on twitter earlier saying they should hold out for 20m for Matondo.

I did say he has improved dramatically this season .
The daily Record is reporting Rangers will still have to pay the majority of his wages if he goes to Blackburn
You read this board , same as I do . There so many experts on social media , the knowledge of some Rangers fans is only equaled by the knowledge on here.....

i can remember a couple of games for Cercle Bruges he looked absolutely unplayable, single handedly destroyed teams - then nothing for long periods

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Right then a couple of days left of the window so what would we like? For me a young striker from a Premier League club along with one with a bit of a track record. I think we have enough in the wide areas including youngsters so probably another progressive central midfielder.

The person on Twitter who has got a lot of things right in this window says we have offers in for a Senaglese forward who is out of contract and a Leicester player - got a fair idea who the latter is, but I’ve not a clue about the former.
