They potentially had access to classified information that was held on computer servers belonging to the House of Representatives Commitees. It is also alleged they were supplying key political figures with knobbled Blackberry phones that were configured to automatically sync with hidden remote servers under their control, thereby gaining access to the confidential communications data.
So far the guy has been arrested for bank fraud, but potentially they could throw the book at him and his co-conspirators in the Democratic Party, or alternatively it could all be covered up and we swiftly move back to the Trump/Russia story. It all depends on who the people in the key positions answer to. It's a very murky business.

So potentially they had access and potentially they could throw the book at him but actually they have been charged with fraud.

The us military have said they'll ignore trump's Twitter burbling about kicking all transgenders out. “In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect,” said the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.

Fair dos :-)
Though while the media are all over this self-created shit-storm , they are less all over Kushner , Trump Senior, Trump Junior and the AG today.
Look - over there! a spaceship!
It seems increasingly feasible that the USA actually is Springfield and Shelbyville and share a similar demographic. :-)
Both located right next to Compton.

The speculation is the fraud charge is just a placeholder for further charges. Who knows, maybe will will turn state's evidence against the bigger fish further up the chain? Or he could even get off scott free. There are too many variables in play at the moment. It's like a real-life soap opera.

Yep that's exactly what's happening. And the added bonus that it'll play great in the Bible belt (despite the actual savings being about 10% of a jet).

And you're wondering why the BBC isn't publishing all that speculation about what might happen?

But the arrest is a fact.

So do you think that ABC, NBC, CBS and the rest of the MSM should publish speculation or wait until the placeholder moves to more concrete charges?

So we need the entire msm to report every development in every story. And if they don't...

Can't wait for Trump's hissy fit on Twitter about that 😂
Re: The Donald Trump thread
^^ Re: Scout rally ^^
That isn't cognitive political / ideological support :-) - when I was 14 or whatever I would probably have cheered for a gobby, gung-ho-bigoted 'man-at-the-top', and likely boo'd the mention of the posh ol' wicked woman and got rowdy with my mates and loved the tub-thumping etc etc.
It's what kids like. Young scouty-type lads especially, surely.
Probably spent the rest of the day trying to out-brag each other, display unpleasant tendencies toward girls, try to catch and kill small furry creatures, and put mud down the arse-crack of the ginger kid.
Much like the majority of the adult Americans attending Trumps rallies.. ah .. maybe I was wrong about it being a kid thing... :hehe:

Don't forget this is the same MSM who write front-page news headlines everytime Trump farts, and they've also been stringing the Russian narrative along for over 9 months without proof of anything ever happening, so an actual arrest is quite a big improvement on this. And Wasserman Schultz is the big fish Democrat who employed Awan, and she kept him on even though his clearance had been revoked, while other members of his family who had already been fired from the IT department fled to Pakistan. So yeah, they probably should have reported that her IT guy had been arrested on fraud charges.

But not hacking as you originally speculated.

Well the FBI do have some evidence, a bunch of laptops, damaged hard drives and about 20 BlackBerries in their possession with government markings on them, so I think it is fair to speculate on that considering other members of his family were fired for unauthorised access to the House of Representatives computer networks. The hacking allegations are based on the work of journalists who have spoken to law enforcement officials.

Hopefully the FBI will be able to work out the difference between hardware and software and find the hacking evidence to press the charges you suggest are likely

The hacking investigation is months old already, that's why the Capital Police chief wouldn't hand over the laptop in the above video and he got threatened for his troubles.
This Awan fella owned 12 houses and 22 businesses, which he ran while working as a Congress IT guy.
