There's a very interesting article in today's Guardian online, about the possible outcomes, and none of them look good. They range from the poor (a divided Ukraine) to the very, very bad (nuclear war). Our best option is that Putin is overthrown.

Read his book. I included instructions on how to online or download to do so offline. All that's needed is for you to summon the energy. I'd tell you what it says but you'd probably disbelieve me, plus I can't be arsed to anyway.

I don’t think any of the above will happen ….. The scaremongering in the media is very very predictable and untrustworthy

The sad fact is, that the most likely outcome is Russia destroying Ukraine by bombing it to pieces, and then setting up a puppet government to run a Russia-aligned state. NATO won't intervene, and Putin knows it.

Re: The War starts Putin announces "Military Operation" in Ukraine. Explosions heard in Kyiv
Not going that well as per this report :
Bellingcat, an investigative journalism agency, said it had confirmed his death, which emerged after an alleged conversation between two Russian FSB officers was broadcast by the intelligence arm of the Ukrainian defence ministry.*
The leaked conversation suggests Russia’s expensive new encrypted messaging service is already struggling to work, which would be a major blow for the Kremlin.
“Era is a super expensive cryptophone system that [Russia’s defence ministry] introduced in 2021 with great fanfare ... guaranteed [to] work ‘in all conditions,'" said Christo Grozev, Bellingcat’s director.
Mr Grozev said that during the phone call, an FSB officer assigned to the 41st army reported the death to a senior official, saying they had lost all secure communications.*
“In the call, you hear the Ukraine-based FSB officer ask his boss if he can talk via the secure Era system. The boss says Era is not working,” he said.
Era needs 3G or 4G to operate, Mr Grovez added, but Russians have destroyed many 3G masts. The phone call was therefore made using a local sim card, resulting in the intercept.*

It will effect us , as we rely on appropriate 4% however Europe is heavily reliant therfore as the world turns off Russia’s supply they have go buy elsewhere resulting in price rises and supply issues ,it effects us all.
More of an immediate worry is our dependency on Russian Diesel.
Wish we had access to our own fossil fuel to get over this period.

The US is a net exporter and Biden gave the impression that he's willing to work with Europe to make up for any loss in supply from Russia.
Russia could be stuck with too much as the supply lines to China and India aren't big enough to cope with the same amounts they normally export westwards.

USA has loads of oil and Canada has capped wells all over the prairie. They use other peoples knowing they have the reserves as and when it gets more scarce.
But you also have to consider that there are different grades of crude that are used got different things. you can't make heavy fuel oil from west Texas light, you may need Brent or Urals Heavy for that so many oil producing nations still import to get the right mix of different oil qualities.
nothing is ever simple!
Consider how much natural gas the Arab oil producing nations have burned off in the last 100 years (Flares on the oil rigs) because it was regarded as a waste bi-product of the oil extraction process. Now we look on it as madness.

So Poland are swapping their mig-29s for US ones and gifting them to the Ukraine.
How much damage can Ukraine do with that?

The B52s come and go regularly to practice integrated ops with NATO air forces. It's nothing new.
(Of course what they're actually carrying may be :hehe:)

It increases the size of Ukraine's airforce by about 10%, so it's not to be sniffed at.
Interesting article here on why the Russians have not established air superiority...

You cheeky dollop!
The book is real. This is the WEF promoting it at its own site - https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/...e-great-reset/
Here's the same book available at amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/COVID-19-Gr.../dp/2940631123
Scroll down the page at amazon to peruse approaching 3,000 reader reviews of it. You will be able to discern the book's content from those. The word dystopian is included in many.

The idea is that if Poland or Bulgaria or Romania give the Ukrainian air force aircraft that they are used to flying they can inflict even more damage on the Russian troops. But it it a balancing act.
These countries won't give up their aircraft unless someone replaces them, hence the F15s.
The delicate part is demonstrating that it is Poland/Romania/Bulgaria providing the aircraft on a bilateral basis and nothing to do with NATO. If it is seen as NATO aircraft attacking Russian troops we are in a whole new ball game.
I think the word delicate is underemphasising it.
(Can something be underemphasised?)

I think the real problem will be if Putin sees it as the US supplying the Ukraine (indirectly) with planes.
(Mind you, I'm sure there is more going on than we currently (or may ever) know about in the special forces/black ops realm.)
