Far from it, we scored 600plus for 4 I think it was, at Lords with Northeast getting 300 plus - from memory, Middlesex then got a first innings lead!
This game is getting embarrassing now, but it shouldn’t be too surprising given the lack of Welsh youngsters coming through, the low key recruitment in thewinter and the shambles regarding the coaching situation.
Great effort from Carlson so far. Shame nobody has really stuck with him. Hopefully Gorvin and Bashir can hang around for a bit.
Definitely good to see a bit of fight at the end. Shows there must be a bit of character. I've got to be honest, I'd forgotten about Gorvin. But if I remember rightly he did quite well end of last year. 4/51 with the ball and closing in on a 50 with the bat. Good individual performance
so in Glamorgan 2nd innings 8 players didn't get into double figures. wtf!
Did Ben Kellaway get injured bowling the final over? He only bowled 2 deliveries (well 4 if you include no balls) before Sam Northeast finished the over.
Pathetic performance - credit to Carlson and Gorvin for avoiding the innings defeat Glamorgan deserved, but as for the rest
Not many pluses from that. Although I do think Leicester will probably finish top 2/3 we still shouldn't be losing like that. I suppose if you are going to have a pasting it may aswell be first game, should hopefully put a ticket up the side now.
This falls firmly into rearranging the deckchairs on the titanic territory. But can't understand Cooke batting below kellaway, one of our best batsman behind a kid who has done nothing yet, get him up the order.
More crap from Cardiff based sporting teams as Glamorgan put Gloucestershire in to bat and watch them score 100-1. Im still incredulous at the decision to “rotate” Gorvin, who had the best bowling figures and scored a fifty last week, out of the team for the second game of the season!
It may only be the coaches second game. But as far as I'm concerned dropping Gorvin is a sack the coach moment. Even if the pitch isn't thought to suit his bowling, we could certainly do with his batting ability.
a bit of a slog today
178-1, feels like it’s going to be a long season.
Given the weather forecast, today was always going to be the best day to make hay, which makes the decision to field quite odd.
At least the batsman will have a chance to redeem themselves I suppose. Looks like it will be up to them to bat out a draw. Interestingly, the bookies have had us favourites for the last 2 games. Must be a few shrewd punters who have made a killing.
Absurd comments by our part time coach - why on earth was, arguably, the best player in the team in our first game, left out of the second one? Worse than that, he’s left out for someone who bowls 13 no balls and 2 wides!

Desperately disappointing start to the season. One heavy defeat almost certainly to be followed by another. And the new coach hardly inspiring. Carlson delivered last week - the r3st of the top 6 need to today. Bloody hell, between this rabble and the city……
Looking at last season's scores at bristol there were quite a few big innings. In fairness to our bowlers maybe it's just a flat pitch. I suppose we will see when we come to bat.
