95-2 at the close with Northeast and Carlson having put seventy odd. Now we’ve got to hope that our bowlers keep on forgetting they’re playing with a kookaburra ball and the pitch doesn’t morph into the usual Old Trafford road for the last two days!

176 for 2 now. At just over 4 an over.
Almost 300 ahead know
Not looking great in that regard!
Would be a huge shame not to win from here, but on the plus side a draw would be more beneficial to us than Lancs.
Especially as it looks like there's not gonna be many positive results elsewhere in the division with the weather.
lancs need 473 and it started to rain:angry:
I thought at the time Glamorgan declared too early, especially with this pitch. Should have got to a 550 minimum lead.
Lancs looking more likely to win this.
Wells out. 4 down. Probably stumps.
It's a fair point. I just felt at the time it's better to draw a game you should win, rather than end up with egg on your face. Especially in the context of the table and what's going on elsewhere.
Of course, those last 2 wickets have made things a lot rosier, and he's probably judged it perfectly.
I think we still need to be a bit cautious because the pitch was easier to bat on today, so you’ve got to assume the same will apply tomorrow - can’t see Old Trafford’s 100 per cent draw record being maintained unless the weather intervenes.
This is how Glamorgan won the title in 1969.
Tony Lewis refused to let games fizzle out and made a few tempting declarations, the closest being when Glamorgan beat Essex by a single run when John Lever was run out going for a second run off the last ball by a brilliant throw from Ossie Wheatley who was a dreadfully slow fielder but could throw in from the boundary with great pace and accuracy.
Glamorgan were unbeaten that season, the first county to remain unbeaten over a season since Lancashire in 1930
Start delayed, but the BBC forecast says it’s going to be dry in Manchester for the rest of the day.
its a win:thumbup:
First result at Old Trafford since September last year, great win
That's a terrific win. The foundations were laid on day one on a pitch taking spin. The openers did well to dig in. It was slow going but that first innings lead showed how well they had done.
Excellent performances from Carlson and Crane. I thought Fernando did well too.
The Glamorgan players and captain should receive much credit for this win.
With a nod to the groundsman too.
We have been on the wrong end of some hidings down the years at the hands of Lancashire. Super win on the road 👏
Best win of the season so far. We looked a good team over those four days. Day one looked like we’d handed them the initiative, but the second day showed that, in fact, we’d batted well and we looked confident after that.
Elsewhere, Leicestershire and Middlesex’s matches are fizzling out into tame draws with just bonus points at stake, but Derbyshire appear to be escaping with a draw as it looks like no play today when they were on their way to defeat at Northampton.
We’re going to be twenty five to thirty points clear in second going into our last three matches.
Cracking result. 2 in a row. what a performance by Crane in the first innings !
Encouraging news from Northampton, they’ve just started there and Derbyshire have lost a wicket already.
It is. A wonderful all round performance with lots of contributions and 2 wonderful centuries. I felt it was positive to get fernando back - and it certainly was. And with Tim missing. If only the next 3 games were following over the next 3 weeks. Well bowled crane and well done glammy for picking him. Genuine promotion chance now.
