Wonder who’s going to win FIFA’s peace prize when the result’s announced tomorrow?

Can you believe this - human rights organisations expecting FIFA to stand up to the US government?
Instead Infantino will do his creepiest 'yes master' act with Trump and demonstrate world class ego stroking (which must surely become an Olympic event soon?).

I will actually be angry if Trump doesn't get it, I want the pathetic spectacle of him 'winning' his participation award to be laughed at around the world.

Trump and FIFA - a marriage of egotistical clowns and corruption made in (some warped version of) 'heaven'.
A bit more detail on the way FIFA is cooking up this latest shit show - and what they want in return!

No, it looks like a half-peeled orange, with some hungry people trying to grab it.

Europe though? With all those weak leaders and foreign people? He doesn’t half come out with some strange stuff, until of course he has to meet the people he talks about, then everything is great and wonderful again….

Who in their right mind would want to PAY to go to a Fascist state? The Orange Idiot has just gifted a tourism boost to the rest of the World. Even Somalia seems less stressful to me.

I understand your despising Trump but if we never visited countries that do not have what we consider acceptable governments we would lose out on getting to the know the people of so many countries and their cultures - and beyond the immediate political leaderships in situ.

Some of my best holidays have been to countries run by despots, and the complete lack of westerners roaming about is a blessing in disguise.

As usual fair point TBG and your travelogues are always most rewarding 👍

Double tap missile strikes on fishing boats in international waters ('Kill them all' says Pete Hegseth about drowning survivors floating in the wreckage), followed by outright piracy.
The lure of all that lovely oil is getting too much for the Gobshite of Pensylvania Avenue.
Building on his record with Syria, Yemen and Iran - and arming a genocide in Gaza.
But more trouble brewing with the MAGA base - the simpletons who believed the 'America First' crap. It was always Trump First!

You would have thought that the "join the dots" crew would be all over this.
Hardly any drugs reach USA from Venezuela yet there is silence as imperial Yankees blow boats out of the water. Nevertheless, the Trump narrative seems to be target this bit of the Caribbean as a drug hotbed whilst pardonning a former Honduran President who was jailed for trafficking industrial scale drugs.
It's almost like the neo-Cons that the like of Gluey despises are going after an oil-rich regime that has an unappealing leader. No sooner is Dick Cheney in his grave that the MAGA crew are wrestling for his oil soaked crown.
Still, the gifted and talented stare at the Orange Man in divine admiration!

Incredible isn't it, imagine what they would have been saying if this had happened under a Obama or Biden Presidency.

Ah, got it. George Dubya and the Neo-Cons have reformed for a world tour but all you boys think about is a fallacy that cost Fox nearly 400m dollars when debunked.
Glad you made it to 2026 along with everybody else who defied those Deagal odds!

You don’t think there was a bit of confusion and they meant the Chinese New Year do you?
Also, am I right in thinking that this won’t affect the decision for the Nobel Peace prize 2025?

Probably using the Islamic Calendar where it is only 1447. No flies on these boys!

Depends who you mean by people I guess.
It is an open question how the people of Venezuela will act to this aggression. Will they rally out of patriotism or see it as an opportunity to overthrow the remnants of the regime with US backing?
The MAGA movement will probably shed some believers who thought Trump was different and find that he is as imperial as some of his predecessors. Department of War, clues in the title!
Apart from a few dissenters the Republicans in Congress will shrug their shoulders as the "King" yet again assumes powers that they constitutionally hold.
A bunch of billionaires and carpet baggers in stetsons will be licking their lips at the real prize of this special operation/declaration of war. Venezuela has almost four times the oil reserves of the US, who is plundering its own at a rapid rate.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...n_oil_reserves
Certainly people like me who believe that Trump is an abomination will add warmonger to all his venality and immorality. You can concurrently believe that Maduro is a disgrace and think this is wrong.
The Trump apologists on here, several having gone deep on things like the the 2nd Iraq War and WMD, will wait for their favourite x feeds and websites to give them supportive talking points before they offer up "original" thoughts of their own. So far it is voting machines and the war on drugs but it is a fast moving environment!
