There was an East German guy called Ralf Minge, a pair of Benders in the bundesliga and the Jack's keeper is similar. Rod Fanni is another that brought our the finbarr saunders on me!!!

A sitcom The Grimleys from a few years ago had a character named Mr Trebilcock. He was a teacher. He was the only person who pronounced it Trebilco.
It starred Nigel Planer and Amanda Holden and, from what I remember, was pretty funny at times.

Not sure if we were linked with him at one stage. Anyhow, after he was convicted of rape in a civil court I suggested to my son that he should be renamed David Badwillie.

In days gone by, I drove the team bus for Mildenhall Town FC in their glorious run in the FA Vase or Trophy or something. Dean Greygoose was the manager. Some of the places visited were so unforgettable that I have forgotten them. Did the trip to Lancaster City. That was a long trip, spent the whole of the match fast asleep on the back seat.

and in cricket, not sure if this is myth but did a BBC commentator say during the England v WI test 'the bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey' ?
Re: UnusualNames of Footballers that stick in the memory
Honourable mention for former Cambridge united player Michael Gash.

Supposed to have been said by Brian Johnson during the Oval test in 1976 - but no recording exists and dispute even now about whether or not he said it. Shame if not true!
