Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Dan James has been outstanding tonight. Game done.
Joe Rodon needs to be much more switched on though

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
From another great cross by James, he's had a cracker tonight. Anyone on the bench to cap now ?
-
Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Well played James, probably motm, nice finish from Moore.

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Pleased for James. Had a tough last couple of years but looked lively tonight.
MOM for me.
Edit: Oh and well done Robert Page.
It worked

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Well done Kiefer - mainly for not being injured though...!

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
I think Ward got a slight touch on that Pukki attempt

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Apart from a shaky 15 minutes that was excellent. Promotion to be amongst the big boys so no Ireland next time....and a real chance of a play off place for the WC Finals should we need it. Great stuff. Played really well tonight. Dan James MoTM and some much improved performances particularly Norrington-Davies.

He’ll improve at Spurs for sure

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Apart from tonight...When (if ever) was the last time two City players got on the scoresheet for Wales in the same game? :sherlock:

I've quickly skimmed through the last 50 years of results and couldn't find a game where it happened. Could've missed one though.

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Both Wilson and Moore are a handful at international level. They really should be capable of causing damage in the Championship.

Re: WALES v FINLAND. Match thread
Tonight's result is massive.
1. Promotion to the Nations League A
2. Most probably a guaranteed play off place for WC 22
3. Most probable a play off place for Euro 24
We must be the smallest nation punching in the top levels of European football.
Great stuff

Mike how does the play off place for Euro 24 potentially happen?

Last time for EURO 2020 everyone from Nations League A was guaranteed a play off place if they didn't qualify through the group stages.

I think if we win the group, given where we are in the current FIFA rankings we would be fifth ranked of all the winners.
It would need two of the four group winners in the A league, France, Spain and currently Italy and Belgium, not to win their World Cup Qualifying groups to deny us that play off spot (if we don't get one as runners up in our World Cup Qualification group).
Simples :sherlock:
Surely we would need three of the above nations to win their groups
