Colwill seems very composed in general. Good to see.

I saw this tweet and I'd say it probably sums Colwill up quite well at the minute. Very talented player though

A really positive response since the Czechs scored.

Re: WALES v CZECH REPUBLIC. Match thread
Colwill needs to get half a yard of pace from somewhere, and to play regularly. The more he plays, the better he'll get. I do wonder if he'll start playing more now we're safe.

Slower players than him have made it, they tend to need more of a "footballing brain" and don't all rely on pace. People need to spot his runs as well..

Re: WALES v CZECH REPUBLIC. Match thread
It's a system that works for Colwill. Having Johnson and Matondo playing slightly wider allows Colwill to make forward runs into the space.
I just wish Vaulks would learn to shoot on target instead of aiming for the post.

What's everyone's take on them blasting music over the speakers for atmosphere?

Looking better at the back after those changes.

What's the point bringing Jonny Williams on?

Exactly what I said. Why not give Harris a run out? I wouldn’t even have him in the squad.
Watch him score now!

I hope cabango wears the same boots on the weekend
-
Re: WALES v CZECH REPUBLIC. Match thread
Give Cabango a rest now. Dont want him picking up an injury.

Re: WALES v CZECH REPUBLIC. Match thread
Colwill was the most interesting selection this evening, I think they should keep working on it, especially with two quick players outside of him.

Re: WALES v CZECH REPUBLIC. Match thread
I think Johnson is better than Dan James. Id play him v Scotland/Ukraine.
Rodon should have played the 90 tonight. Barely kicks a ball for Spurs needs games. Dont see the point of Gunter playing.

We look more secure with Ampadu in front of Roden, so need Mepham to step up his game.

Different system. James fits well in to 3 up front formation, Johnson as part of a front 2.

Austria battered them. Encouraging for us.
As for this game I thought the youngsters did very well against a much more experienced side. For fifteen minutes either side of half time they were terrific.
A positive night.

I would play James for the first 60 and bring on Johnson for the final thirty. James workrate is terrific and does cause problems for the opposition. We have some great bench options these days.

I know it's our match thread and there were enough positives to take away, but didn't have nowhere else to comment on the other game. Austria had a few missing I'm not sure how strong the Scotland team was

From the BBC
Two good goals for Scotland, the second was brilliant. But it was a bit of a joke they were 2-0 up. Austria had tons of chances and I never had any confidence Scotland were going to win. They couldn't keep getting away with that defending. They haven't lost the game, but it does raise certain issues such as who joins Tierney in the back three? Hanley looks short of confidence after losing games with Norwich every week.

Half of our defenders don't play much at all. I'm not sure which is better? Not playing at all or playing in a losing team?
