Mel Sutton screamer from outside the penalty area v Middlesboro 1968. My third game.
Re: Your favourite ever city goal
Used to love goals where a forward rounded the 'keeper - rarely see it now. Cohen Griffith seemed to get a few when he joined.
Anyone remember a Plymouth (I think) 'keeper straying and Dale hitting a goal from the half way line in front of the dugouts? I think it was at the Canton End?
Re: Your favourite ever city goal
No 2 best v Hull during a downpour and the mud was about two inches deep. Ronnie Bird strikes the ball goalward and it bounces two or three times slowing down each time. The Hull goalie thinking he's got all the time in the world walks toward it but gets stuck in the mud as the ball rolls over the goal line.

Was it Plymouth? And was it the half way line?

I've looked extensively but can't find it. It was a terrific shot in front of 60,000 fans at NP which clinched City's promotion to the the First Division. Certainly one of City's most significant goals.
Would love to see it again.

Maybe not the best but it is my favourite and unique in my 50 plus
years of watching City.
I remember that one.

Re: Your favourite ever city goal
Willie Boland at the Crabble Top in the FA Cup. Not sure if it made Goal of the Month, but it was the little maestro’s only goal in 900 appearances for the Bluebirds.

Willie Boland scored a pen on his debut against Millwall (899 games before his final appearance😂😂)
