I'm hoping that Huws will add some creativity and steel in midfield that will see the system work.
If the 3-5-2 doesn't gel within the next month, we should revert to type...but I really hope that Harris remains in the XI.

Same here. Something we have been desperately missing for a few seasons. Why he hasn't been starting since he got here beats me.

Players should be able to pass, move and construct attacks whatever formation the line up is.
Endless managerial talk about systems drives me round the twist when the basics are missing.

It has proved a major positive, that's for sure.
Somehow, I don't think it's the best thing that's ever happened to CCFC, though.

2005/06 - 5 points (Dave Jones)
2006/07 - 13 points (Dave Jones)
2007/08 - 7 points (Dave Jones)
2008/09 - 10 points (Dave Jones)
2009/10 - 10 points (Dave Jones)
2010/11 - 13 points (Dave Jones)
2011/12 - 11 points (Malky Mackay)
2012/13 - 13 points (Malky Mackay)
2013/14 - 8 points (Malky Mackay)
2014/15 - 8 points (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer)
2015/16 - 12 points (Russell Slade)
2016/17 - 5 points (Paul Trollope)
It's a statement of the obvious, but a total of just five points from the first six games is none too clever after what appeared on paper to be a fairly routine set of fixtures by Championship standards (City have so far played only one side who were ranked in the top ten of the division's pre-season favourites - yesterday's opponents Norwich).
Oh for five points after 6 games, but back then lower level teams to start with.
It does seem similar where the Manager finds himself out of his depth.

Good bounce. Some great comments from my 2016 fan club, most of whom have since disappeared. Much like Trollope, who lasted 11 league games. Will Bulut make it that far?

Look Erol is a top manager, it’s simply the point that this slow start has happened because of the
Opponents
Players
Fans
Tea lady
Nothing to do with him, or his tactics, and once Pep retires Man City will be on the lookout for such a visionary coach 🤷*♂️

Boy! we’ve suffered some fools at the helm….
…and even bigger fools who repeatedly select, eulogise and then ultimately pay off these idiots.

I doubt it, I fear tomorrow will be even worse after the press conference.

2023/24 - 7 points (Erol Bulut)
2024/25 - 1 point (Erol Bulut) *after 5 games
Our worst start ever to a season was back in 1921/22, when we lost all 6 matches. We finished 4th in the First Division, so maybe all hope isn't lost yet!
4 points is the most we can get this season after 6 games. These are the seasons we've managed 4 points or fewer after the opening 6 fixtures. There are 12 in all and we were relegated in half of those seasons. There have only been 2 out of 7 seasons where we've managed 3 points or fewer where we've stayed up. Of the 7 seasons we've failed to win any of our first 6 games, we've been relegated 4 times.
1921/22 - 0 points. Finished 4th in Division One.
1930/31 - 1 point. Finished 22nd in Division Two. Relegated.
1989/90 - 2 points. Finished 21st in Division Three. Relegated.
2018/19 - 2 points. Finished 18th in the Premier League. Relegated.
1971/72 - 3 points (0 wins). Finished 19th in Division Two. Avoided relegation by 1 point and a better goal average.
1984/85 - 3 points (1 win). Finished 21st in Division Two. Relegated.
1994/95 - 3 points (0 wins). Finished 22nd in Division Two (third tier). Relegated.
1952/53 - 4 points (1 win, 1 draw, 3 points in old money). Finished 12th in Division One.
1964/65 - 4 points (1 win, 1 draw, 3 points in old money). Finished 13th in Division Two.
1974/75 - 4 points (1 win, 1 draw, 3 points in old money). Finished 21st in Division Two. Relegated.
1978/79 - 4 points (1 win, 1 draw, 3 points in old money). Finished 9th in Division Two.
1964/65 - 4 points (0 wins). Finished 13th in Division Two.
2004/05 - 4 points. Finished 16th in the Championship.

Bloody threw my season ticket away after those 6 losses in 1921, championship winning form from then on……..anyone want to catch mine after tomorrow’s match?

Nearly. We won 19 and drew 10 of the last 36 fixtures. Only Liverpool managed 1 draw more over that period. That season Spurs had a slighty dodgy start yet also won 19 of their last 36 fixtures, drawing 8. They leapt from 16th to 2nd.
On the opposite side of the scale, Bradford were 6th after 6 games and were relegated.
