Blackpool play-off final at Wembley. I remember my heart sank when Bothroyd went off. Having been a supporter for many years I was used to disappointments with CCFC but this one takes the biscuit.

Bothroyd didn't get injured. He'd been playing with an injury for some time and taking pain killing injections before games. Before the play-off final he refused to take it, knowing he wouldn't last the 90 minutes. TRhe last and most important game of the season.
It makes me wonder what his motivation was.
