That argument doesn't wash in these days of social media. Dissenting scientists can out their views online and there will be a lot of people who think like you do who will find it and try to "spread the word". Also, Dr Malhotra, who is a convincing advocate for anti vaccine views, has appeared on mainstream media - the problem as I see it is that there aren't many as authentic sounding as him around.Quote:

Again, as I said before, heat isn’t the only thing that kills people. However during an abnormally hot month we had an abnormally high number of deaths. Abnormally high deaths that peaked in line with the abnormally high temperature peaking too.
Do you not think the extra deaths during the summer should be attributed to the heatwave?
As mentioned previously in the thread, the NHS isn’t operating anywhere close to its pre pandemic efficiency or quality. I’ve not got the numbers but if I recall, we haven’t had a single month below the pre pandemic excess deaths rate since early 2020.
In the summer I’m sure the heat would have attributed to a higher dearth rate than a cooler summer , absolutely, but the link posted suggests other mitigating factors, what’s your view on them particularly ages 45-54.Quote:

Page 3 shows the path of excess deaths by week during the last few years. You can filter it by age group and sex. It shows massive peaks which triggered lockdowns which massively reduced and then for a period took those deaths below seasonal norms.
These are for England but these patterns are similar for all the countries which reacted to exponential growths in deaths before vaccines were widely available on the advice of their medical experts.
Believe what you want about how the virus was managed, including thinking it was mostly like a cold for most (in all it's mutations presumably) but the data paints a different picture on its virulence across the age groups at its height.
