In that situation, if your sixth choice striker is a teenager who's showing some promise then I'd expect any fanbase to be positive and optimistic about him but you want to pick holes in everything here. Each to their own.

Apologies in advance for picking holes here, but are Davies and Robinson really strikers? Indeed, for that matter, is Reindorf really a striker?

I'm sure Morison brought Robinson in as a striker here although he acknowledged he could play anywhere along the front line.

I've always thought of Isaak Davies as a striker first and foremost. Bellamy started experimenting with him as a 10 and then out wide when we picked up another striker from Liverpool and he seems to have moved around the front line ever since but he went back to playing up front last season at Kortrijk (albeit in a three at the back system). I think we expected Bulut to stick him out wide on his return but, as far as I'm aware, he played him exclusively as a striker in pre-season.

I'd say Reindorf was a striker yes. The under-21s use him there and the time I saw him there was a lot of player rotation but he stayed up front all game. Welshlad put this article up about him in the Academy thread, seems like he can play elsewhere but Norwich saw him as a striker (although his goals and assists needed improvement). Looks like he was obviously highly rated there, I'm not sure what went wrong in his final season.

I'll bow to your far greater knowledge about Davies - whenever I've seen him play he's occupied various positions, including out wide, so I've never really been sure what his natural position is.

As regards Reindorf, I've only read a little about him but some of the stuff from Norwich referred to him as a midfielder, such as this report:

Perhaps it's an indication of how the game is generally these days or maybe it's something that is exaggerated at this club in recent years, but we seem to have a lot of players who are not out-and-out strikers but can play in that position. I'm thinking in particular of Robinson, Meite and Grant. We seem to be short of strikers because we're signing utility forwards rather than dedicated strikers. If that makes sense.

At the moment I'd say we only have Kanga and Etete on the books who are out-and-out strikers, and there was some doubt about the former before he arrived, although having seen him now I can't imagine him playing any other position.

It's only Burnley.

They've just agreed a fee for Odobert out of the blue with Spurs, so he won't be playing tomorrow. Plenty of others to replace him I'm sure, but hopefully upsets morale a little...

He was probably best player on the pitch against Luton earlier in the week.

Yes, I am self aware enough to realise I am on a bit of solitary crusade as I don't feel the level of negativity exuding from here.
I gave you my reasons for that a few days ago.
That said everyone is entitled to their opinion and if the noisy few feel the need to float from thread to thread moaning about Bullit ball , signings , non signings , loanees be my guest. I won't fall out with anyone over it.

Well I'm feeling very positive about tomorrow. I'm meeting up with three of my closest friends at 2:30pm - one is a former season ticket holder who hasn't been to a game since the rebrand, the other two are current season ticket holders. The weather looks good, so we'll be sitting in the garden for a few hours eating, drinking and chewing the fat. We've resolved to avoid the football scores until after our game's finished so it doesn't spoil the afternoon. And if City defy the odds and get a result of some sort, we'll raise a glass in the early evening.

Davies is definitely a striker but is probably too short to be deemed to be able to lead the line so gets moved about. Robinson the same really but I think he has a bit more creativity

Too short in the eyes of Bulut, It would be good if we didn't always have to rely on flick ons and hold up play from our strikers.

To get our strikers in behind the defience I suggest we would need to get the ball into attacking areas a lot more quickly

At this stage yes, Kanga will be better in a month or so, I'd probably have Reindorf on the bench, but you can tell who went to the Rovers game, Reindorf was quite impressive in that game, ignore the rest it's history, he looks like he has something about him.

Agreed early days but he stood out with Colwill the other day :thumbup:

I reckon that we will catch Burnley cold and get an early 2-0 lead, Goutas from a set piece and Colwill from the edge of the box. Burnley will pile on the pressure but city will hold firm and run out 2-1 winners. You heard it here first...
