You seem to be quite negative during this entire process
Does any other championship club our size fare much better?

I think it's the more recent four or five Manager failures which is making all of us doubt they will get it right. Swansea has faired miles better in recruiting Managers, it's kept them in the League, where as we have relied on increased owner-loan funding.
I try and remain as positive as possible, but it's hard when they keep making poor Manager appointments.

Yes.
I would say there’s 23 other Championship clubs doing better than us right now.

You noticed then.
I’d say that in terms of putting yourself under a self inflicted disadvantage, only Watford of current Championship clubs maybe outdo us.

I'm sure that I read a while back that the average tenure of football managers in this country is less than 18 months.
so while there aren't many doing it as badly as us, it could hardly be called successful in much of the rest of the industry.

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
Callum Robinson has thrown his backing behind interim boss Omer Riza, believing him to be one of the best coaches he's worked with.

Back to Robinsons opinion, if he thinks, changing the formation when in control of the game and throwing 2 points away makes a great coach, then crack on
Take your most influential player out of position and put him as a striker, making him less effective must be in the new coaching manual?
Having Kanga and Meite in the squad is a complete waste of space and he should have the balls to replace them with a couple of youngsters
I hope we win Saturday and Tuesday night, but I still wouldn’t want him as the head coach/manager
We need an experienced man at the helm, not a trainee who showed just how much he’s out of his depth with a couple of bizarre choices when we had a great opportunity to take all three points.
I would have had far more respect for him if he’d come out and owned that mistake

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
I think only our useless board could be so incompetent to still have not recruited a new manager.
They really are feckin useless.
We badly need a change of ownership and these utter clowns gone.
Sadly I don't think there is any serious interest from anywhere and the downward spiral will continue.
Tan clearly has little interest but even he must see that employing someone with half an idea how to run the club on a daily basis would benefit himself as well as us.
So we are rock bottom with 2 relegation rivals to come and we are stuck with a complete novice in charge despite clear come and get me pleas from 1 ex Championship manager.
It's behond stupidity.

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
Whether Riza turns out to be a decent manager or not, or whether he has a long career as a manager or not, are things at which we can only guess. However, he has managed to make Bulut look like a complete novice in his first few games in temporary charge, which makes me wonder how crap a manager was Bulut?
-
Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
To be fair he did well today after his cock up at Bristol. With the team gaining more confidence and some important players returning from injury he might just be about to ride a wave of optimism

One of our worst in modern times over a 12 month period.
Unbelievable after conceding 5 at rotherham the fans were singing we want him to stay and he was fist pumping. A very poor manager with an awful attitude. Id personally have got rid of him last january when was obvious the way things were going and he was throwing his toys out.

It was clear he was playing the board for fools as well with all of his contract antics. In hindsight they should have seen that and told him to piss off. He thought he was bigger than them.

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
Well if those of us that stuck behind bulut were wrong , and we were ...
Then there's quite a few on here who were wrong about us not having a decent enough squad .....you know who you are .....and riza being a cowboy on a mule .....and you know who you are too
👍

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
That last point is starting to look risible.

In fairness, if Riza, or whoever takes over eventually does a good job and the squad looks decent, it shows how dreadful Bulut was for us and the players at his disposal. It's starting to look more like Bulut was the problem here, not the players, but when results and performances were grim, it's inevitable that most will conclude that both manager and players were to blame.

Pretty sure you disagreed with me eric when i said a couple of extra players (eg an actual striker) then this squad could push for the play offs.
Still disagree?

Not saying it should be in the top 6 but absolutely we could be around 10th pushing if we could have a striker.
Which of the starting 11 today do you think are not good enough to be in a mid table championship side?
Plus daland fish and ramsey.

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
It's just a game, but today was super positive. A little scoring practice and it could have been 7/8

Re: Riza's Cardiff reign looks likely to continue
He’s won me over. Managers have to start somewhere and he’s definitely improved us, he’s picking the right players, he speaks well, players are saying he’s a top coach and they want him to stay.

Look, today was a great win, but let's have some context in that Plymouth aren't much of a side, they're winless away from home and are expected to struggle. Rotherham scored 5 against a mid-table side at home last season.
If we are to finish 10th this season, we'd need roughly the same amount of points per game average as a team finishing in 6th would need over a whole season. A top 6 finish would need an average of around 1.8 points a game, which would win automatic promotion more often than not.
I'd also suggest finishing anywhere between 9th and 16th as being mid-table, but there's quite a difference between them. If we finished 16th this season but look like we're improving and have things to build on, I'll be happy. I'd see that as a better season than last season - even though we finished 12th, in most aspects of our game we were generally dreadful and weren't building anything.
