It's as if a players form can drop off and they can be worse than they were an entire year ago.

I think (it's a bit hazy now) Lawlor played in a back 3 with Ng and Luey Giles as wing backs.

Goutas is like NG, a very reliable defender last season whose form has completely dropped this season, wonder if there’s some reason for both of them performing way below their previous form
I'll admit I'm heavily biased where Ng is concerned. I just cannot stand him. He spends as much time trying to con the officials or wind up his opponents as he does actually doing his job, with Sheffield Wednesday's equaliser last week being a prime example of that. I despise players like him at the best of times. As I've said on here many times before, I believe if you're happy to accept the behaviour of players like Ng when they're playing for your team, then you can't complain when opponents cheat in a similar manner.
As for Goutas and Ng both being reliable defenders, I don't agree. I admire Goutas's effort, commitment and work rate, but he's always had a mistake in him. Last season, a defence featuring Ng and Goutas as its mainstays conceded 70 goals. Only three teams conceded more and two of them were relegated.
This season the team has conceded 63 goals so far, so it's on course to equal or even top last season's tally of 70. Only one team has so far conceded more and they are rock bottom of the table. Goutas's game is too error-ridden to be described as reliable, while Ng can be a liability.

Still plenty of clubs in the mix - an away point isn't a disaster at this stage.
A win would be great though.

No we need wins.

Re: QUEENS PARK RANGERS v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I'd say this is our easiest game left. QPR on an awful run and under pressure. But not quite under enough pressure to be tricky. If we can't win tomorrow we are down.

I agree. We've had too many draws from winning positions this season.
I've just checked and we've conceded 13 equalisers this season - only Norwich have conceded more. Of the 17 games when we've scored first we've won only 8, while we've lost 15 of the 21 times we've conceded first this season. We've lost 20 points from winning positions this season, though that isn't the worst record of the sides down near the bottom.

Yeah if we are to win the later we score the better.

I love games like today. A springtime Saturday 3pm kick off, with a few pre match beers in the sun. A stress free end to the end of the season with no relegation fears or the potential torture of the play offs. A game against weak opposition with a guaranteed 3 points and no doubt a good few goals to celebrate too. I envy those QPR fans!

Apart from QPR haven't yet got a stress free end to the season at the moment. They definitely still have relegation fears.

'Mon City!! Lets see something worth being proud of, we know they've got it in them, as do they have complete capitulation but let's hope for the former rather than the latter from them today

QPR are 5 points and 6 places ahead of us.
They'd need a total collapse and 6 teams below them to improve. It won't happen.

We could be 2nd bottom by 3pm today.
Have not got good vibes.

That’s a good shout. A Luton, Derby, QPR treble is currently at 52/1

I don't think they will go down. For a start they will beat us today. However if we somehow pull it off we are 2 behind. They then have Oxford and the pressure is on. They probably need 6 points. They are not safe.

Or if they don't we could overtake them mid week.
As long as we get our job done the result from derby swansea will look good for us.
If we don't do our job then obviously we want swansea to win but if we can win either is good.
