Yep and everyone remembers shearer had those games and failed.

Whether fair or not it's absolutely what people remember and it would be with ramsey. Most football fans of probably never heard of riza. Our relegation would become ramseys.

Everyone who commented on the couple of pages of the confirmed ramsey signs post I linked to from summer 2023 yes. It seems to be 100% positive.

(I'm sure other people commented differently in different places or on different forums etc but on the thread about him signing it seems 100% positive.)

There were many, many threads on here before and after Ramsey signed, and plenty of people expressed concerns about his general fitness and his ability to withstand the physical demands of Championship football. I also expressed doubts that his signing would lead to the sort of increased crowds many believed it would (and I got some stick for that).

Agreed. However, I was in the club shop a year or so ago getting a new shirt for my boy's birthday. Randomly he wanted Goutas on the back. The young lady in the shop had to check how to spell it first, she'd never done on with his name on before :hehe: . Anyway, she reckoned that when Ramsey signed, there weren't many shirts they did with a name other than Ramsey on them. He helped shit a few shirts at least.

So what are you saying? Everyone was positive about Ramsey coming here, as you first claimed? Or plenty had reservations (as mentioned by others in the thread you've just bumped)?

In the ramsey signing confirmed thread it seems to be 100% positive.

However other threads are available- which are still mainly very positive but some comments broadly positive albeit with reservations.

Most of the reservations were before he signed but once he had signed and for the first few months and up until the Swansea game had a poll been done at that time asking if fans were happy we signed ramsey or should we let him go I think most would have said to keep him at that time.

What I'm saying basically is it depends when you ask the question depending on what responses you get.

I still think although it hasn't worked out we would only have signed someone else shit instead so it doesn't really matter either way.
