Re: Start planning for League One
One thing fans will notice is the lower number of tickets for away matches. Of the teams confirmed so far weve got the largest capacity stadium. I think there'll be a fair few disappointed fans when tickets go on sale for trips to Stevenage, Exeter,Northampton and Mansfield.

Re: Start planning for League One
For me, I don't mind playing the former Premiership and Championship sides, so your Bolton's, Peterbrough's, even Rotherham's don't bother me too much.
But it's the nosebleed teams like Mansfield and Port Vale that really get to me. Not saying either them or us don't deserve to be in League One, but it just feels embarrassing. It's like if Hibs started playing Forfar Athletic in the Scottish League.

You never saw Cambridge stick 7 on us at Ninian Park or Maidstone bang in 5 did you. To a generation of football fans Cardiff City were a yo-yo Division 3/Division 4 club. Some fans of Mansfield, Port Vale etc of a certain age will be of the opinion that Cardiff are back where they belong. Those clubs you mention were regular fixtures for us.

It shouldn't be though. Just because it used to be that way doesn't mean it's a time I'm particularly fond of reliving.

Not saying Chesterfield is a bad place or has bad fans, but I can't help but feel embarrassed that a city on the rise has a football team that will now be playing a team from the National League the season before.

Re: Start planning for League One
At least Crawley went down. Bad enough having to play Stevenage, but Crawley Town? How did things get so bad?

Re: Start planning for League One
We aren't a billy big bollocks sort of club and deserve to be where we are.
It's going to be a scrap and a grind to get back out of there. If our squad show up thinking anything less (which I suspect they are) then we are set to become one of the L1 faces.

Not saying we don't deserve to be where we are from a footballing sense, that would be to deny reality. I just expect much better from us given our area of fan capture.

Well I’ve seen us lose against both and neither time we would have been deemed favourites. It’s something the under 30s know nothing about.

Quite literally a nosebleed team that were in the Conference last season. Don't know about you, but that makes me feel embarrassed. I don't need to hear horror stories about "back in my day".

"Ball number 22, Crawley Town, will play ball number 17, Cardiff City".
- live camera goes to the Crawley clubhouse, where they've laid on a free buffet and invited all 341 season ticket holders to attend. :hehe:
Yeah, Stevenage is going to sound bad, but Crawley Town is on another level :hehe:
